Let me start by saying our server and service was attentive. My moms meal was huge and she liked it.
My meal was 2 slices of GF bread and maple syrup that cost more than her omelet, fried potatoes and 2 slices of toast. The server did not understand gluten allergies and assumed it was just a "healthy" choice to not want gluten.
I asked if their syrup was GF, he had no idea what I was asking. His response was, "the maple syrup is a healthier choice".
I again asked "do any of the bottles of syrup say GF on them?" He half hazardous shook his head no.
I said it was fine to bring the maple syrup.
Normal French toast (2 slices of bread is $7. There is a $2 upcharge for GF. I love being "punished" for a disease I can't control. Anyway, the maple syrup was another $2 for a tiny sauce cup size. He told me it was $2 before I said yes to it but I didn't expect such a small size.
So $11 for 2 slices of toast dipped in egg.
Which I'm assuming is the same stuff they dip the regular bread in bc I had symptoms immidiatly.
It could have been the syrup. Which wasn't that great and I question if it was actually 100% maple syrup.
I know my toast was GF. The texture a dead giveaway.
I won't be returning here. I'm sensitive and my digestive system is still not right almost 24hrs later. I know my contamination came from here. I rarely eat out and am super careful.
