I told the waiter I had Celiac disease and was allergic to wheat, rye, and barley. He went through the entire menu and indicated which items had gluten. I ordered the scallops which he had indicated were GF and when they arrived (and after I had eaten two) I noticed there was a slight crust. I asked the waiter if this was flour and after asking the chef he came back and said, “Yes, it is flour, but just a little bit.” He clearly did not communicate with the chef I had Celiac or didn’t understand that even “a little bit” is not OK.
