Ate here 2 days ago. I was the only one gf. Very good meal & service. Had a mushroom Swiss burger & sweet potato fries. I chose no bun & the burger came out lettuce wrapped & huge!! 6 of us & everyone was happy with their plates.

This particular location at the Carlsbad Outlets has gluten-free buns. Otherwise, there are no other clear gluten-free choices on the lunch/dinner menu. There is no dedicated fryer - I was confused by other locations' reviews and thought they had a dedicated fryer. So when I asked about gluten-free options for my daughter with Celiac, our server told me right away about shared fryers and that any fried food would not be safe. we ended up ordering a burger with GF bun and a side salad. The GF bun, while tasty, was still partially frozen. Side salad came out of the kitchen with the croutons on top. We promptly requested to re-make it, which they did right away and apologized.
I'm giving this place 3 stars as opposed to 2 because the server really tried to accomodate us and seemed knowledgeable. I asked him to request that the kitchen take steps to minimize cross-contamination, clean out the grill, etc., and he was happy to oblige. I also really appreciated that he understood about shared fryers and told us right away. He also knew ingredients in sauces and helped us select a burger without gluten-containing ingredients.
No
We used to LOVE their GF chicken fingers and fries as a family that rarely gets food like that. They took the GF chicken fingers off the menu.
GF buns still available.
Fries are GF in a fryer that is ONLY used for the GF fries.

Im being generous with my star rating because there are not a lot of options for us, meal-wise, at the airport. Ruby’s (though not marked on menu) has gluten free hamburger buns so you can get a burger or sandwich, or substitute for toast with your breakfast. They also offered to give me fruit instead of toast with my eggs which I appreciated.

Though my server answered all of my questions and suggested options as the fries are not made in a separate fryer, I got sick immediately after eating here from cross contamination.

They’re not knowledgeable about celiac. The waitress said “My daughter used to have celiac and would get bad hives. But she outgrew it”. When asked if the chili was gluten free, she said “No because it has beef and beans”. She clearly did not know what she was talking about
Ended up playing it safe with the chicken Caesar salad which was surprisingly good.
