This place was amazing! They have a dedicated gluten free fryer. Almost everything can be made gluten free. I’ve had the fired shrimp tacos on a lettuce wrap and I’ve also had the fried flounder! An amazing experience every time!!

Waited 45 min for a table then an hour for food. Waitress wasn’t knowledgeable about what was gluten free. Fish was overcook and over seasoned. Will not be back

I was literally on the floor surprised at how many substitutions they had, I had fried shrimp tacos and fries and crab dip. They have gf pasta buns everything and staff was knowledgable. Even changed oil for everything. 10/10 for celiacs

The bartender was incredibly rude and the drinks were not good. Then I ordered a steak with broccoli and we waited over an hour for our food. The kitchen put my filet in the oven with no seasoning or oil and it came out dry and hard as a hockey puck. The food was awful and I’m so confused how this place has so many great reviews.

**Get a reservation** Saw reviews, stopped by. Everything on the menu can be or is GF they say with exception of egg roll app and crab cakes. They don’t have a separate fryer, rather they fry each gluten-free meal in a pan with new oil and GF flour. Took a little longer but worth it. With no upcharge. GF fried shrimp, GF buffalo shrimp appetizer (!!), GF calamari, and GF fried flounder were all terrific. A non GF person in our party got shrimp and grits which was GF by default and was amazing. Gourmet chef touches throughout the food. The mashed potatoes were awesome alone. A visit just for mashed potatoes is time well spent. This place cares a lot about food. The cooks know food. Few bumps in the road however, make sure that you specify GF on everything you intend to be GF: the house salad came out with croutons to a GF person but was not ordered as GF. Also a waitress was thinking out loud about whether rice was GF. GF fried shrimp came out with cocktail sauce that didn’t sound (usually is not) GF. The place is a 5, food is amazing. Prices weren’t bad. Massive menu that can be modified. Menu not marked though. They have a GF penne. Ask questions and use usual vigilance and it’s wonderful.

Second trip was also delicious. Be vigilant, this time we specifically made sure to ask for a GF salad and it came with croutons (pic)

Best experience and the best food. I would 110% go back and recommend this place to anyone!! Got the mahi and fiancé got the Alfredo chicken and both were amazing!! Pretty much everything except for 2 items on the menu can be made gf!’ Love it!!

Saltwater is the #1 GF restaurant in the area. All servers are aware of celiac and can inform you of the accommodations. They have a dedicated GF fryer, GF pasta, and sometimes they have GF buns. Popular GF entrees that you may not be able to get elsewhere include GF fried seafood platters, GF fries, Calamari, alligator bites, crab dip, blackened chicken Alfredo, shrimp scampi, (more pasta), and more!!! It’s fantastic that they have a dedicated fryer- it was great to have fried seafood and French fries. They coat the seafood in cornstarch which is good but I was really looking for a batter-fried seafood platter (GF pancake batter and beer works amazingly!). Very nice and knowledgeable staff, and a lovely view (sat outside on the deck overlooking the water)

Awesome place in town! 🐟 The fried shrimp is awesome and the calamari is as well. The batter isn’t thick and they have a dedicated fryer. The staff is knowledgeable and the atmosphere is great! I came on Friday and they had live music too, the view is also gorgeous!

Great place for fried fish! They have a dedicated GF fryer for fish/shrimp and also French fries! Wait staff are very knowledgeable about allergies and everyone is very accommodating. I am celiac, and we also have dairy and egg issues in the family and they all had a great meal!

I absolutely agree with the two recent reviews. While there is no gluten-free menu, the staff is very knowledgeable, and there is a dedicated gluten-free fryer that they will heat up for fried food orders. I enjoyed fried shrimp and french fries for the first time in years. They also have delicious entrée salad options too. In addition, the staff are very friendly and it’s a beautiful location.

What a great experience. Nicole was super friendly and if she wasn’t sure about an item in the menu, she would ask. They do have a dedicated fryer and have added GF french fries to their menu, so I was able to enjoy fried shrimp plate with French fries and side salad. Also, the bacon wrapped scallops and alligator bites were delicious. They had a flourless torte but I didn’t order that (too full). If ever in the area again, I will definitely eat here again.

We went here for dinner while vacationing in Emerald Isle. They did tell me they have a dedicated gf fryer but you cannot get fries since those are not gf. There is quite a bit of stuff on the menu that is marked as gf available. I ordered pasta primavera. They came out later and told me that they were out of gf pasta so they just made me all the vegetables without the pasta. Server (Shelby) was great. I’m super sensitive to small amounts of cross contamination and I did not get sick.

Came here on a whim during a boat ride and gave it a chance... waitress advised that they have a GF fryer and oil so of course I ordered French fries!!!!
