I very much wanted this to be my go-to bakery for gluten free treats. I have become proficient in GF baking, but sometimes you want a treat without having to make it. I visited on a Tuesday afternoon just after noon. There was very little selection. I chose a chocolate cupcake. It was a small cupcake, with some frosting (looked like a child had helped with frosting. That is okay, but you eat with your eyes first. I almost didn't purchase anything because it didn't look very appetizing, but I was there, and I like to give support to small businesses). It looked dry. When I bit into it, there was no center - just a big empty pocket of air. The edges were firm. Not as dry as I expected but I wouldn't call it moist. It was less sweet than I expected. As I like less sweet things in general, I did appreciate the richer chocolate flavor without overwhelming sweetness. There was nothing remarkable about the frosting, it added a touch of moistness to an other wise dry cupcake. I also bought one of the banana muffins. It was quite generous in size. Again, I appreciated that it wasn't overwhelmingly sweet. However, it was also on the dry side. There were several other options for different breads. There was no price that I could see. Typically breads from a GF bakery run $10 or more. As I am happy with bread I make myself, I can't bring myself to pay those kind of prices, so I did ask. It might have been delicious, I can't speak to that. My husband tried both items when he got home (he eats a fair amount of GF items, as that is all I make in our house). His first response, this is incredibly dry.

Maybe they have a bigger variety of items in the morning. Maybe this was an off day. I won't be back. If anyone is ever visiting Littleton, CO, they have a shop called Wave the Grain. Best GF bakery I have ever been in, hands down. Look up their website and see how a baked good should look (that doesn't help with the taste, but I admit my experience there contributed to my being underwhelmed at what I found here). Even my husband loved their baked items. I do understand that baking GF can be a difficult task (moistness, texture), but this was sadly a miss for me, especially for the price one pays for GF items. I'd rate 2.5 stars if it were an option, but since I know GF presents it's own set of difficulties, I bumped to 3.
