I love this restaurant and frequent the one on Oahu. However, the one on Oahu removed all their miso dishes a while back (miso butterfish, miso eggplant, etc) because they realized they weren’t GF due to malt vinegar. Someone that wasn’t communicated across locations. I let them know so hopefully it’ll change but it made me unsure of/distrustful of their menu. Went with basic sushi to be safe and was fine
Sansei’s has great Japanese cuisine. They have a lot of gluten free options and a separate gluten free menu. The food was really good, and they had Tamari Soy-Sauce. They have a gluten-free Lava Cake that was pretty good.

Rib eye was excellent. Server Kiani was knowledgeable on GF options. She even checked on one of the sauces to be sure (it was not gf). We had no issues after eating here.

Menu is limited for a sushi place for GF. Miso is NOT GF.
Gf options if you choose fish and rice. Not a very convenient place to eat.

Staff was knowledgeable and I didn't get sick but really underwhelming food. The gf options were really limited, so there were only a few items I could eat, none of the specials, and none of it was all that good. It was fine but not good.

Staff very knowledgable regarding gf options. Many gf items on menu (not labeled) and many that can be made gf by chef. Great sushi and helpful staff!
Great experience. Amazing otoro

Very knowledgeable about gluten. Our server was funny and enjoyable! Many sushi options, happy hour prices make it well worth the meal.

I’m sure it’s great for sushi, I’ve been here before having celiac and the food is incredible. So this review isn’t for sushi. Last time I went I tried ordering fish, was told it would be plain and it came out with some weird seasoning on it. Nima sensor caught gluten and after a chat with the manager, it was apparent that they were not very cautious or informed on what gluten is and didn’t seem very caring of the situation.

Good food and clearly marked menu for GF items (there was a G next to them). Server listened and was understanding for my needs (was with gluten eaters). Nice environment with a wide range of options but expensive food. Worth it for a nice sushi night out.
