Sawa Restaurant and Grill

Sawa has been one of our go to restaurants in Clear Lake since several members of our family were diagnosed with Celiacs. It is yummy, locally owned and operated and we have felt perfectly healthy after our meals here. Favorites are the spicy potatoes and beef ciku stir fry.

I realized that I’ve never reviewed Sawa, even though I’ve eaten here many times! The menu is clearly marked, and the staff is knowledgeable and willing to make substitutions to make things gluten-free. For example, I always order their amazing hummus with cucumbers instead of pita. Their chicken siku stir fry is my personal favorite.

This is a hidden gem, and I highly recommend!

Excellent Service, very friendly and professional. Restaurant is very clean.

The food was perfect, the Owner came out as My wife is on a GF, DF diet. He was very knowledgeable and took a personal interest in the food served.

I highly recommend visiting here. We are taking a menu home so we came just stop by and pick up something.

The owner Is a very friendly man. They make gluten free falafels here and have other GF options as well as Vegan friendly that isn’t tofu vegan but Mediterranean style vegetable dishes. They also have a good sage and mint tea if you like tea. The owner is usually waiting tables as well and he’s awesome at helping you get options to suit your GF preference!

Great place! My kids and I are celiacs and very sensitive, and had no issues here. All things gluten free are clearly marked on the menu. Also, lots of dairy free and other special diets accommodations. Chef came to our table and told us he and his wife have a gluten sensitivity, so he's aware of cross contamination and takes every precaution, even told us that things not marked as gluten free can be easily made gf with a few alterations. To be extra careful, I tested our food, and sure enough, no traces of gluten were found. Service was super friendly too. Really a great experience and will be back soon for sure.
