Got the shrimp skewers and peel shrimp. Was very good! Aware of celiac safe prep. Avoid fries since in a shared fryer. Would recommended, didn’t get sick!

The other reviews are on point. The jambalaya is truly a treat. I grew up in a Cajun family eating a lot of dishes like this and I can tell you this is one of the best jambalaya’s I’ve had at a restaurant. The seafood is really fresh and the sauce is incredible. The peel and eat shrimp were also great. I would definitely recommend this place

The jambalaya is delicious. We had it twice while visiting Crescent City. One of our people is gluten-allergic and she felt healthy and happy after our meals.

Jambalaya! It's delicious and totally safe. Chock full of all the yummiest meats. It's such a treat Also the location on the beach is ace. The service was absolutely top notch as well. A great choice.

The jambalaya tasted amazing. I would return here again and again. I trusted the safety here, at least with the jambalaya, as the prep seemed minimal and few chances for cross contamination (and with staff reassurances).
I didn’t trust the fries for a celiac diet as they are prepared in a shared fryer with breaded menu items, but my kids tried them and said they were great.

We were pretty much shunned by a near by seafood restaurant when we asked about any possible gluten free menu items. We left humiliated. Acrossed the parking lot was Schmitts House of Jambalaya so we took a chance and went inside. The staff was Very knowledgeable! They knew what was safe and what wasn't. They knew about cross contamination and informed us about which menu items were risky. We both got their Jambalaya (100% gf) and ohh soon good! Highly recommend!

We stopped in to see if there was anything gluten free. Their menu had a variety of options and the server was very knowledgeable and friendly. He suggested the jambalaya and shrimp creole as being gluten free with no chance of being cross contaminated. Both meals were delicious!! Definitely worth the visit!!
