Review of Schnitzel Platz

Beware, the new owner (since 2020) does NOT care about food allergies.

I ordered my food dairy-free, was told it was no problem, and it came out half smothered in hollandaise sauce. The server immediately took responsibility for it and said they would remake it. Since it had been 90 minutes since we ordered, I was starving, so I told her to go ahead and remake it but that I was going to start eating from the safe end of the plate in the meantime. The owner then came over with a smirk on his face, arms folded, and seemed to question whether I really had a food allergy/intolerance. I told him I had started eating from the safe end while they remade another because I was so hungry. In response to remaking the food, he said with a huff, "really? just because of that little bit?" He ultimately refused to remake it, agreed to take it off my bill, and I left hungry. I was shocked that a place with such a great gf selection could be so flippant about allergies, but we then found out that as of 2020, it is being run by a new owner. It seems the former owner's tradition of allergy-friendly food is lost on this guy. I will not be back considering he is very likely cutting corners when it comes to safety if he thinks a little hollandaise sauce is no big deal to someone who can’t have dairy.
