Asked about gluten free at lakeside grille. I was shown a card that said the hamburger patty had gluten, but manager swore that only referred to the bun and the patty itself was fine. Stupidly I believed her and ordered it for my celiac daughter. 3 hours later she was throwing up from being glutened. Supposedly there is one sit down restaurant that is dedicated allergen friendly. Do not eat anywhere else.

nothing gluten free. The staff is completely unfriendly and not helpful in any way

So now they have the “ add food to your ticket” plan where you can buy an entree, drink, and side and dessert at a sit down restaurant. We first tried Seafare grill where I was told my only option was grilled chicken. I didn’t even try because the server didn’t seem too sure of herself. Then we tried to go to the Shark’s restaurant, which is mentioned here. IT IS NOT ON THE PLAN. They will give you a 30% discount on the food there IF you have the food plan. It appears you need reservations for this place, so we didn’t. We were told almost any restaurant could accommodate GF, just tell your server. So we ended up at Water Grill, where I was told their meat ( steak, mojo chicken, and pork) were GF along with rice and black beans. So that’s what I had.

The only place to safely eat gluten free is at Sharks. My daughter who has Celiac has never gotten sick. She gets the hot dog with no bun and a side of strawberries. They told us on our last visit that the french fries are made in a dedicated fryer but we’ve been going there for 3 years and not one server has ever told us that. They have a new chef that takes allergies seriously so I’m hoping for more places to be available :-)

The options at Sea World are seriously lacking. You can only eat so many bags of Lay’s Chips. Sea World needs to get their act together. The other theme parks in the area-like Disney & Universal-are the gold standard in how they treat their food allergy guests. Sea World, Aquatica and Discovery Cove are a disgrace. The only reason this review has 1 star is because I have to put a star

Only one gluten free place and it was extremely expensive other than that there are no options.

We are at Shark’s Underwater Grill since it’s their designated allergy restaurant. Excellent food & extremely knowledgeable. The host gave us an allergy card, waitress knew all about celiac, chef greeted us at the table with a plethora of choices (even offering to custom make food for my celiac daughter). They brought out her own basket of bread which was sealed Udi’s loaves and gave her a gf brownie sundae. Honestly I wish all restaurants were as safety conscious and aware as this restaurant. No illness afterwards and the food was absolutely delicious.

Ate at Shark's Underwater Bar and Grill at Sea World. They were so attentive and took my gluten allergy very serious. I was handed an allergy card when we were seated and the server saw it before I even said anything. Within minutes, the chef was at my table, spoke to me directly about all my options, basically said he could custom make anything I wanted to be GF. I was also brought out my own GF bread to enjoy while the rest of the table had rolls. From start to finish, excellent customer service from every staff member we encountered. Highly recommend for anyone with gluten allergies.
