Seldon Standard is very knowledgeable about Celiac (knew to avoid soy sauce, cross contamination fried, etc.). They marked up the menu (that changes often) and confirmed with the chef/kitchen to wipe things down before making our dishes. All the food was amazing and I felt like i had a good amount of options!

I have little to add that others haven’t already said. Just want to chime in and say this was the best dining experience I’ve ever had since going gluten free. While I did eat meat as well, their vegetarian dishes were also the best vegetarian dishes I’ve had at a restaurant. I really cannot recommend this place more.

Amazing dining experience. First question from the server was “does anyone have any food allergies?” They were able to address my multiple allergies (gluten, dairy and soy) and I was still able to enjoy the vast majority of the menu and dine as intended with my friends sharing dishes. The food is flavorful and of the highest quality, and the service was fantastic. Now on my list of Detroit favorites.

The first question from our server was “does anyone have a food allergy?” Good start. She quickly identified what was gf or could be prepared gf. Not a huge list but manageable. Great service and they always confirmed my food was prepared gf when brought to the table.

This is one of my favorites! When I visited, our waiter annotated the full menu to let me know what was gf and what wasn’t (in great detail!). The great thing was the majority of items were gf or could be prepared that way. The bonus? Gf cheesecake!

Celiac friendly?

Yes

I can’t speak highly enough about my experience here. My server, Ryan, immediately marked up my menu so I knew exactly what I could eat as written, what I couldn’t eat at all, and I what I could eat with certain modifications. Every time a dish was brought out, either Ryan or another server would list the dish name, describe it, then end with “this is gluten free”, just to reassure me that it wasn’t mixed up with someone else’s. I can’t wait to go back. If at all possible, ask for Ryan!

Celiac friendly?

Yes

So yummy! When I told them that I was gluten free, they took the menu back to the kitchen, brought it back with markings on it, and sat with me to give me the run-down. Many things were already gf, but small accommodations could be made to other dishes, as well.

Wowza, what a place! There's no separate GF menu or labeling, but the servers know everything about every item on the ever-changing menu. So as long as you're clear with them, they'll take great care of you. The food is phenomenal as is the atmosphere and service. Can't say enough.

Selden has many gf options, all of which are delicious! Our server asked if we had any dietary restrictions before I even had the chance to tell her I was gf and was very knowledgeable about options. She marked on the menu which dishes were gf and which could be modified gf. She also pointed out 2 dishes that were technically gf but included ingredients that could possibly be cross-contaminated.

Server and kitchen extremely knowledgeable about celiac. No separate GF menu, but server knew which menu items were GF or could be slightly modified to become GF. AMAZING, creative food.
