Had the buffalo wings. After reading these other reviews perhaps there was some cross contamination but I felt fine. Thought the wings weren’t fried.

So shades used to be one of my fav restaurant because I could eat the wings and fries but they changed their menu and after multiple questions to the chef we finally found food that we thought I could eat, but I got sick anyways.

This is not safe for celiacs. Wings made in shared fryer. Fries not safe.

Only GF info on menu is wings which have cross contamination, but bartender was very knowledgeable. We got corn tortilla Mahi tacos and White cauliflower pizza. Both were delicious. We'll definitely be back.

There were several options and all of the wings, most of the burgers, and the sides were gluten free. Servers were knowledgeable and didn’t have to second guess any recommendations they gave.

I called in advance and was told their GF options included having cauliflower crust for their flatbreads, corn tortillas for the mahi tacos (this is what I got, very good but they didn’t heat the tortillas so they ripped), GF buns for any of the sandwiches, and all their wings are GF. Salad dressings too. At the restaurant the waiter was prepared to help me sort out ordering - even immediately said that they had recently switched to a new oven system for their French fries and that they now had a bit of breading on them so they were a no go. I got the mahi tacos and a Caesar salad with no croutons and it was tasty and didn’t feel risky. I will say I am currently not deep enough into full gluten-free that having CC makes me sick so I would not have noticed it if it happened but overall I felt heard and understood by the waiter. He also asked what my level of allergy/intolerance was because that would have ruled out some of the pan fried options.

No GF menu but staff was knowledgeable and asked the kitchen. Grilled Mahi and cauliflower pizza were good and we experienced no issues! I always take Spectrazyme gluten digest pills to help.

I felt really good about the caution our waiter was taking on my order and his knowledge of working with food allergies. We made modifications since I have multiple food allergies, gf/df being the main ones. The food was delicious and appeared to be safe, but I have reacted to something, not sure if it is cross contamination or direct contact. If you only have to work around a single allergy, it might be easier and safer.

I have celiac disease and I got the wings. I knew I was rolling the dice- but I am happy to report that I didn’t not have a reaction… at all! I am normally very sensitive, and always bring Zofran on vacation in case of a ‘glutening’ I would eat here again and the wings were amazing.

I got the grilled shrimp and avocado salad and it was amazing! I had no reaction. Those in my family who are not gluten-free got the kids fried shrimp and adult crab cake and said the fried shrimp was really good…the crabcake was just OK.

I got the avocado shrimp salad and it was great! No reaction! Good price and fun atmosphere. Ate here twice! The menu was not marked and there weren’t a ton of options but good food and no reaction so that’s great!

I get their gf medium hot wings every time. They are amazing.
Gluten free items clearly marked including gluten free wings (not fried so no cross contamination). Waitress knew the fries were not GF when asked.
Yes
Food was pretty good. They have gluten free marked on the menu. The manager new items that were gluten free and not.
NO gluten free menu and waitress was not educated at all in celiac protocol . She was very willing to try to help and good was amazing but got sick soon after . With a tiny bit of education and food separation it could have been a very different experience
No
