Shambles Tavern

Coeliac Friendly pub, highly recommend!I have walked by this lovely tavern when exploring the streets of York and almost missed the sign that advertised that they offer gluten free soup. I came back later that day to ask what soup it was and unfortunately it sold out earlier that day. However, the waiter at the bar told me that they offer other gluten free dishes as well. As I am allergic to dairy too I had quite a few questions about their dishes, all have been answered friendly and patiently and the waiter checked back with the kitchen to make sure all information was correct. Upon asking, they also told me that they had separate fryers and kitchen space to prepare the gluten free dishes and fried goods. That convinced me to stay for dinner and I did not regret my decision.I had eggs with chips and a side salad, the dish was served in a reasonable time to be prepared freshly and portion size was just about right. Given that it is a pub the quality of ingredients was really high, and it is definitely good value for money.I highly recommend this place!!
