Server / owner was very pleasant and quite knowledgeable. He was quick to point out that the garlic butter had gluten in it so he’d switch it out for just melted butter. Also made sure to steer us towards options which were GF while keeping in line with what we generally wanted. Great experience and would happily eat here again. They also will cook your catch if you bring it in! Super cool.

I thought this was a good spot - had lots of steamed and grilled options for seafood and salads.

Celiac friendly?

Yes

If you want seafood, They have options. My wife enjoyed her Grilled shrimp. I don’t like seafood. I had little to no options other than a salad. I had a burger no bun with 2 sides of coleslaw. The coleslaw was below average.

I would avoid. Server wasn’t helpful. I asked about the chicken marinade and if it was safe. She didn’t know and did seem like she wanted to check.

Though I did not get sick from eating at this restaurant, overall I would say it is not Celiac friendly. They do not have a gluten free menu, but our server, Angel, was awesome and went back to the kitchen multiple times to check on the gluten content of various foods. Since I don’t eat seafood in addition to being gluten free there just weren’t many options available to me. If you like seafood, you may have better luck. My husband wanted to eat here because a friend recommended this place. The view was nice as it is right on Shem Creek and you can see the sunset over the marsh if you are seated well. We got the spinach and artichoke dip appetizer with tortilla chips which are not fried on site so they were deemed safe. I got a bacon cheeseburger with no bun as my entree. It did come with fries on the side which wasn’t listed on the menu so that was a surprise. I did not eat them as they do not have a dedicated fryer. I had a couple of cocktails including the Charter and a mojito that were very good! I would give the service 5 stars, but the food only 3. It wasn’t bad, but nothing to write home about.
