Many of the items on their Gluten Free Menu turned out to be too good to be true. The Manager came to the table and let me know they do not have a separate fryer for gluten free meals, so there is cross contamination.
The gluten-free menu is somewhat deceptive, particularly if you have Celiac Disease or a strong intolerance to gluten. DO NOT eat the fries, they are fried with battered foods. I was charged an extra $1 to have vegetables steamed without butter (dairy intolerance). Lobster was great, but none of my food was seasoned- at all! Gluten-free should not mean seasoning or spice-free.
We eat here every time we are in town. They have great GF selections and the food is unbelievable.
Great, fresh seafood and tasty GF options! Fried calamari was excellent for all- GF folks and not. Also had fried fish on menu but we didn't try it. We will go back.
I have a gluten and dairy allergy and there wasn't really much on the menu. When I talked to the server he was reluctant to even serve me anything. In the end I ordered some scallops and he said he'd talk to the chef to see what could be done. What I got was a plate with some seared scallops (no seasoning what so ever) and some carrots that had been put on a grill and slightly burned. The plating of the food was an insult and the food was flavorless and uninspired. Never going back there and wouldn't recommend any one with food allergies to bother with Skipjack's
