Smeaton Nursery Gardens

So! While on a wee camping trip to Dunbar we looked up what to do etc. We found Smeaton's not so far away and as i had been before and although the service was thoroughly chaotic i had a lovely GF lunch. I decided to take my hubby for his lunch 6th July 23. On entering the tea room i asked for a GF menu, you would have thought i had held her at gun point asking for her life savings, without engaging with me she looked right over my head to speak to a colleague while pointing at me 'gluten free' this one went straight in to baked potato/soup mode then another from the kitchen shouted over 'oh no sorry no chowder, i forgot to take it out the freezer' baked potato? baked potato? This was about 1030/11 ish i asked for a sandwich/toastie next one jumps in 'bread is out of stock' don't they have supermarkets in East Linton? Or check the stock of an evening so they know what they need to buy in I eventually managed to ask and ascertain that there really was nothing apart from a baked potatoe or cauli and cheese soup for my breakfast. We left the ambush to find another eaterie On leaving i spoke with a lovely woman who offered me a plant as an apology, i declined but very kind of her. She assured me that should deal with this straight away i honestly believe she would have. The moral here is to call this establishment prior to ANY visit and ask what are the GF options on the menu for that particular day . We found Dunbar Garden Centre and had a really lovely meal a menu stacked with GF options and we had driven past it to get nothing. This was my go to place now while on holiday.
