Disclaimer: This place does not claim to be gluten free nor do they promote it. Authentic Latin food or in this case Cuban food is naturally gluten free (depending the food item) A plate typically consists of a meat cooked in some sort of veggie, rice and beans. All of which do not contain gluten. Keep in consideration everything is cross contaminated. Nothing is in its own dedicated space or fryer. For example their fried plantains are gluten free but cooked in a fryer the same as everything else.

My fiancé and I are fans of Cuban food so naturally we came to visit this restaurant in the Smokies while on vacation as we were tired of small “gluten free” menus and burgers. This restaurant is a gem amongst the chaos that is Pigeon Forge and was not necessarily busy when we arrived. Our waitress was lovey! We did not have to ask for gluten free menus as we are aware of what we can have (nor do I think they have a gluten free menu). Of course there were other things like croquettes, empanadas, and desserts that my fiancé knows he can’t have. I am of Hispanic decent so I can help him determine what he can have or alternatively I would ask the waitress to see what is made with flour.
The food was fresh, nicely seasoned, the restaurant was clean and we were taken care of properly! We were very satisfied with our meal. It was filling and such a breathe of fresh air while trying to find a good place to eat amongst all the fast and fried foods.
My fiancé says if you’re not sure what to get - he recommends the vaca frita every time. It’s shredded beef, cooked with onions, a side of rice and beans but no plantains. Oh! And a cafecito!
