I drive all over Colorado. Yesterday I was at an appt and wanted to grab some food before grocery shopping. I saw this had just opened. I love shopping small and local. Right next door is a nondescript restaurant with so many “signs” on it it seemed rather unwelcoming and quickly turned me off.
As I entered the restaurant I was welcomed by the owner Dave and a little boy. The little boy smiled, waved and said hi. As a mom of 5 this was heartwarming.
As a person who has to eat quite strict including dairy and gluten free Dave helped me navigate my options (they’re also very clear out stated in the menu). I was craving potatoes so he made me a custom meal. Medium spice was quite mild so he brought me some delish hot sauce. He also poured me a complimentary glass of wine.
I found out he owns Zaika I believe. And his goal is to fo the same in Aurora! I love that type of drive. The restaurant is also incredibly clean. Only thing I would’ve liked is salt on the table. I’m sure I could’ve asked but it wasn’t that important. I enjoyed a lovely potato masala and pappadym. Go, enjoy and support local!
