Smoky’s Pancake Cabin

I always applaud restaurants that are willing to offer gluten free items on their menu. I cannot attest to there safety precautions, the menu does indicate that everything is cooked in a shared kitchen. The problem with their gf pancakes is that they were not good ! They were dense, crumbly and dry. I know this could be helped. There are some really good gf pancake mixes out there.

Wait staff talked to me like I was an idiot when I asked if they cleaned the grill before they cooked gluten free items. I Definitely was made to feel like a burden when I asked about gluten free items. Would not recommend. Waitress also didn't check on us until she brought the check, and we had to ask multiple times to get a coffee.

We love Smoky’s! We have eaten here several times with no issues. Servers are knowledgeable and careful. They are also able to accommodate our daughter’s dairy allergy as well. Pancakes and eggs are cooked in oil. Great, friendly place!

There was a note on the menu that they offer a GF mix to prepare pancakes and waffles but all equipment is shared and CC cannot be prevented.

I considered myself warned.

Risk it for biscuit. I ordered hash browns, bacon and scrambled eggs. Came out ok. Definitely not the place for more sensitive folks, but worked out ok for me this time.

Was told they have batter but not cooked separately. Sever had no clue on cross contact. Tried to order meat and eggs to be safe. Couldn’t eat the meal after kids French told was laying across my plate. Not an option if celiac.

Was told at start that shared kitchen space so to be fair we were warned.

Waitress was very knowledgeable and even asked if I had celiac and if my waffle needed to be cooked on a separate griddle! Anything can be made with gluten free batter and was DELICIOUS!! 10/10!

Got there at their 8:00 opening. Discussed with server. My gf order was the first on the griddle. 4 decent sized pancakes. Will visit again.

Had gluten free pineapple upside down pancakes and they were excellent! Huge portion! Menu says all pancakes and waffles can be made GF, but notes toppings and fillings may not be, and that customers should inquire. Service was less than great, but staff was friendly and wait was not awful.

Service was excellent and we were in and out pretty quickly. All waffles and pancake options can be made for “gluten sensitivity” and eggs and bacon are gluten free. I have celiac so I will update later to report reaction or not..,
