NOT GLUTEN FREE SAFE. Don’t be fooled by the GF markings next to their food items. Fries? All fried in gluten because of shared fryers. Quesadillas because they are corn tacos? NOPE they’re cooked with flour tortillas on the same stove top that doesn’t get cleaned between meals AT ALL even if you say you have an allergy.

This staff is not trained to take precautions and don’t know anything about gluten free outside of them thinking it’s a fad they can accommodate— which they can’t. They mark GF next to foods that simply don’t naturally contain gluten even though they are cooked and fried in gluten containing oils and shared stove tops.

There is NO dedicated gluten free fryer or section of their kitchen.

How in the world is this place getting safe ratings? Everything behind the counter is cross-contaminated! They have no separate fryers. Their staff is next to knowledgeless about the topic. They take no precautions. I personally know a celiac former employee who was given contaminated food, who was only told they had no separate fryers after she already ate it. Do *NOT* go here if you’re celiac. They don’t know enough to know they’re poisoning you.

This place was awesome! Great vibe. Best taco shop I’ve ever been to! Lots of unique options, great flavor combinations. Gf options were clearly marked, plus I had no reaction. I highly recommend this place. Can’t wait to come back next time I’m in Santa Cruz.

Awesome good, cool vibe, plenty of options

We were searching for a place for lunch in downtown Santa Cruz. Outside, posted menu clearly indicated well over half of their menu is gluten free. We had the loaded carne asada fries and 3 street tacos. The food was amazing. The manager made the afternoon even better when he changed the channel of the bar TV for me! Will definitely be coming back!
