I have celiac. I got sick after eating here. I had the sopa de pollo and cachapa with chicken. It's a lovely restaurant but I can't recommend it for celiacs. The menu has many items marked gf that are fried in a shared frier, for example.

Avoid the fried food. They use a shared fryer. A lot of things are naturally GF but given the shared fryer and their disregard for cross contamination, would be cautious if celiac.
Good well marked menu. With a lot of GF options. Empanadas were really good. Staff was friendly. I hope they franchise. I would love to see one back home.

We stopped for breakfast and had some tasty arepas with yummy filling and coffee. They do use a shared fryer, so avoid items like the GF empanadas if cross-contact is an issue for you.

We loved the food here! I am gluten sensitive and was able to eat many of the items. Not recommended for Celiac or if you have cross contamination issues. I had the Empanadas from Venezuela and the sweet plantains. Very tasty food.

I had the red beans and rice as well as the sweet plantains. After speaking with the manager all fried items are in a shared fryer, and even the sweet plantains have the oil from that shared fryer used to cook them. He was very nice and said he would bake the plantains for me this one time so that they would be safe, but that was not something they usually do. Everything was delicious, I tested with my Nima sensor and it was gluten free. I also got the flan which was fabulous and gluten free with the Nima sensor as well.

Drove over here based on reviews only to get there and be told that the only gf items were grilled chicken, rice, and beans. The young man at the counter kept repeating that if we wanted gf we needed to order grilled chicken. He said the oil and cooking surfaces were all shared and even said that the arepas were not 100% gf even though they are listed as gf on the menu. In fact, most of the menu is labeled gf but he said that it was not truly gf, and only the chicken was safe. We went elsewhere.

We had a few arepas for breakfast. They were great. The menu is clearly marked and the online menu can be sorted to show GF only.

I went two days to this place. The arepas are delicious and GF. I liked the restaurant has identified the GF items.

We just spent 5 days traveling in Orlando, Tampa, and Ft. Myers and this was our favorite meal! The menu is clearly marked with GF items and well over half the menu is GF. We had arepas (mine with beef and sweet plantains, my partner’s with chicken and cheese) and they were both absolutely delicious. Side of tostones was great, as was the sangria- not too sweet, but very flavorful. Wish this restaurant was in Massachusetts where we live- we would be there every week!

The menu is marked with lots of GF options. I advised the hostess of my allergy and ordered the Camarones al Ajillo which was a large portion and delicious, a Colombian empanada, a Venezuelan empanada (which was the best I’ve ever had even before my dx) and vanilla flan. Can’t wait to go back, no reactions and the drinks were strong! Coming back for another visit I’ve learned that they use a shared fryer. Although I had no reactions one the first visit, I will reframe from ordering anything else that is fried.

DO NOT EAT THE FRIED FOOD!!! All fried items are made in a shared fryer. Unfortunately we assumed they were not since the menu stated gf, and my husband ended up sick. Aside from that, the menu is very extensive when it comes to gluten free. However, as a celiac I wouldn’t risk it personally, given they are claiming the fried items are gluten free. If you don’t have celiac, I think it’s a great place.

Incredible food with homemade arepas. It's a small local place that's a nice break from Disney/Universal.

I visited here after reading all the positive reviews here and calling ahead. Food was delicious and I had no issues as a celiac. Lots of options.

Some AMAZING food. So many gluten free options clearly marked. Six stars!
So there are GF options but this is a counter order place. There’s also a language issue. What I had was good but it was fried and I couldn’t get a definitive answer on what it was fried in. I’m hoping I don’t get sick but would of liked to try other options.
Clearly labeled GF items & a staff that understands gluten. Place is so good we ate here twice on a recent trip 😋
Amazing food and lots of it. No dedicated fryer but lots if options. Great people!
Everything is made in the same fryer. Really had very limited selection. Cross contamination nightmare. Was really excited about this place too. Disappointed

Insanely good!! We loved the beef empanada, arepa with beans and plantain, and the cheese bread. Super friendly staff, and nice covered outdoor patio.
DELICIOUS!!! The staff was very knowledgeable about GF safety and the food was amazing! You can’t order fried items because of the shared fryer but there were so many other delicious items it didn’t matter. Just wish this restaurant was in my home town!
Yes
Many of the empanadas are markedGF, presumably because they’re made with corn, but they’re fried in the same fryer as ones made of wheat, so they’re not really GF. The arepas are baked, so they are not cross contaminated. Everything was delicious and the prices are a bargain, especially compared to the exorbitant ones at the amusement parks. Five stars for the food, minus one for the mislabeled empanadas.
Was hopeful because of the other positive reviews.
Didn’t eat here after speaking with staff. Everything fried in same fryer, and most of menu is fried items. Staff unsure about Celiac or Gluten Free even though the menu labels many items as GF. Disappointed to say the least
No
Everything is clearly labeled GF. The food was amazing and there’s several drink choices. Everything is reasonably priced.

A lot of food. Great taste. Very responsible price. Must try

My favorite non-Disney restaurant to visit when we are in Orlando! An absolute MUST if you're GF!
Delicious food. It was all delicious!
Great service, gf options are labeled on menu, delicious savory food. The empanadas were especially delicious!
Yummy yummy authentic Latin American food. Great price. No cross contamination.
Lots of gluten free options available and food is absolutely delicious- unlike all the processed food you find in chain restaurants. I could even have the sweet plantains that aren’t available in so many places! The slow cooked pork was amazing!
Asked the staff at the register and they use a shared fryer so no fried foods are celiac safe, that being said there are a TON of other absolutely delicious options. I had the 30+ hour roasted pork, yellow rice, and roasted potatoes. The portion was huge for only $9! I will definitely be returning in the future
Edit I ate here again this week. They accidently brought me fried plantains and I told the staff I was "allergic"due to the shared fryer and they apologized and told me it would be about 5-10 min so they can remake my plate. That made me feel really good that they didn't just take it to the back, remove the plantains and then give the plate back.
Yes
Everything about this place is amazing. Very low prices for good portion sizes. So many GF options right on the menu. All the flavors were authentic. Wish I were here longer so I could visit a dozen more times. Other notes: counter service, bar available, safe neighborhood, easy to find near I-4.

Back for a second time on our trip. This place has amazing food for great prices. The worst thing about it is that it isn’t in my home town of Chattanooga. I have Celiac Disease and they have a huge selection. I think about half their menus is gluten free. If you are in Orlando for the amusement parks, this place is well worth a trip. We have tried lunch and dinner here and paid under $35 for a meal for two both times, including tip. It is a welcome spot of authenticity among the tourist traps. Thanks Sofrito for some amazing meals!
Yes
very tasty and celiac friendly restaurant, and the price is very reasonable, the staff there is also very accommodating
delicious food that is well priced and authentic. the flan was incredible.
You have to eat here. Many gluten free options, clearly marked. Delicious food. Friendly staff. A happy find for my celiac family.
Yes
Very clearly marked items with many different options. Worth the short walk from Disney Springs, both for the quality and much better value. Staff is very friendly/helpful as well.
