Best sushi in CLT. gluten free soy sauce and I’ve stayed away from any brown sauces and tempura and been so happy every time. Great service, easy parking. Amazing!!

We've been ordering about every 2-3 weeks from Somi for over 6mos. now and have experienced consistent order quality and lack of adverse effects re: Celiac. We've done takeout only (no opportunity to dine-in with COVID) and sushi only. Somi does not have a specific gluten-free (GF) menu, but we've had success by avoiding anything listing tempura, "fried" or eel ingredients. For reference, we've narrowed our selection of "safe" specialty rolls down to: Blue Diamond, Morningside, TNT, Rainbow, Sunkist, Red Eye, Deja Vu, Tuna Tataki and Salmon Lover. MOST of their traditional Maki rolls are safe, and most sashimi/nigiri. We always include a "please attempt to avoid cross-contamination" GF warning in special comments on every item. I'm very happy to note that we received a phone call from Somi after an order placement one day because we'd ordered an item that (unbeknownst to us) was pre-marinated in a soy sauce and so possibly not GF. The caller took the time to warn us and offer a replacement, which was amazing and so appreciated. (Apologies- cannot remember what item was unsafe. Will update if I find out.) As a final note, the orders come with small containers of soy sauce, which are sometimes marked "GF", sometimes not. We discard the unmarked containers, but the "GF" soy has, so far, been perfectly fine! Highly recommended.
