It’s not a dedicated gluten free kitchen, but their entire menu is essentially gluten free or items that can be made gluten free.

Got a cheesesteak, fries, and the buffalo cauliflower. The cheesesteak was great, through the roll was just good, not great. I’ve had better GF rolls, but this was def not the worst. Everything else was awesome too.

12/30/23 Second visit, went on a Saturday, they were having a private drag show so we had to order takeout. The cheese steak was very good-real cheesesteak meat, and the Parmesan garlic wings were out of this world. Would go back but mainly for the wings and cheesesteak. The tater tots were OK, the fries were disappointing, needed salt. Didn’t like the honey ketchup.

9/2022 Wow! Our first time here and definitely not our last. The wings are great, fries so good and the buffalo chicken cheesesteak was amazing! Its an interesting vibe inside, staff was super nice. Can’t wait to go back and try more

I’ve eaten here twice. First time was amazing, the food was delicious, great gluten free bread, and the steak was seasoned to perfection. Second time was not as good. Ordered one gf cheesesteak without cheese and it came with cheese. I know that’s confusing but we were quite clear about the allergies. Wait staff was not happy about allergy concerns. Unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be returning. I don’t enjoy being seen as a burden when I go out to eat.

I had high hopes but was disappointed. Even for bar food it was meh at best. They also forgot my salad (my meal) which came out as others were finishing because they “couldn’t find the spring mix in the basement”

I’m not even sure where to start. GF almost everything it was amazing. I come from an area where you can’t walk into a restaurant and order majority GF. We came on a Sunday when brunch was going on. I ordered a Glutenberg IPA, then the GF mozzarella sticks and lastly the grilled cheese and tomato soup all GF. That grilled cheese exceeded my expectations. I thought it would be a sad 2 pieces of GF bread w/a hole in the middle. It was a homemade hearty GF bread with the works. This place is amazing if you need GF. Everything was delicious. This will be my go to place when coming to Philly.

If you want to be able to eat bar food in Philly this is the place to go!! Most things on the menu are or can be made gluten free and there is no cross contamination with the fryer. I had a cheesesteak and it was honestly one of the best gf rolls I’ve ever had. For an app we got the bedrock bites which are chicken nuggets made from gf bread crumbs and fruity pebbles. Even had a gf peanut butter bomb for dessert! This is one of my new favorite places!

Southhouse was amazing! Virtually everything on their menu is GF! We had mozzarella sticks, yes GF, loaded tots (with GF cheese sauce), Philly Cheesesteak’s (seasoned to perfection on a delightful GF roll!) AND a GF Peanut Butter Bomb (to-go of course - which we learned was the, “South Philly Way!”) The atmosphere was great, the Staff was amazing, and the beer was iced cold!!!! Can’t wait to go back!!!!!

We visited Philly and found South House in this app! I would 100% drive out of my way to visit here again!!! We had the BEST FOOD. the bread for the Philly was AMAZING!! The cheese sticks were delicious. The Peanut Butter Bomb for dessert was the BOMB!!! This is a MUST VISIT!!! There are very few items on the menu that aren’t GF. The fryer is dedicate. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough! Such a relief to not have to worry about CC and my son had his first mozzarella sticks since his celiac diagnosis. The staff were terrific and the food was great!!

I enjoyed my first visit to the SouthHouse. I was excited to try a Philly cheesesteak in Philly only to discover that I ordered the sandwich with grilled chicken. 🤦🏾‍♀ I was so excited to see that they served goat cheese, I totally missed that it was on a chicken sandwich. But, I digress.

They have gluten free buns and dedicated fryers. The buns weren’t bad, but a bit dry. I also got the potato and sweet potato fry mix. It was ok. I’m not a big fan of shoestring fries and these are a few millimeters shy of being shoestring. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and would definitely recommend this place for someone who’s gluten free. They have other options that I’ll have to try at some point as well, mozzarella sticks, cauliflower bites, etc.

Insanely delicious food! Great service. Got a GF cheesesteak which tasted amazing. I haven’t been able to get an authentic Philly cheesesteak in so long and it felt so nice to be able to order one at a restaurant with my bf. The roll was delicious. Definitely homemade, felt great to have my meal look and taste just as great as my boyfriends gluten meal! We also ordered the mozzarella sticks which were sooooo good!! Four stars for the amount of GF food they have! I’ve eaten here about a dozen times. I recommend their cheesesteak. The ratio of bun to meat is perfect and it’s super tasty. Also the wings fall off the bone and the sauce is amazing. The chicken fingers with fruity pebbles are usually pretty dry. Mozzarella sticks are sometimes a bit burnt, but boy is it nice to have those options! My kid’s favorite thing to order is the peanut butter bomb, and she usually hates sweets. Highly recommend ordering this for dessert, you’ll just need a helping hand to finish it!
