Spice China is under new management. We had a lovely lunch of sushi, salad and soup that was tasty and safe. Most items on the menu were gluten free except for the obvious noodles, crab ( imitation) and tempura. Gf tamari was on the table. Waiter was knowledgeable.
They said they could make most items gf- the sauce would be different and they may have different breaking or no breaking depending on the dish. I ordered the orange shrimp and it was breaded. Taste was very bland, vegetables weren't cooked and it made me very sick. Won't be going back. The search for gf Chinese continues!
We order takeout regularly and occasionally eat on site at Spice China. They can make most dishes gluten free on request. Breaded items (e.g. sweet & sour chicken) are made without the breading but with the original sauce in most cases. They were knowledgeable about which soups were safe, and often notice and warn us when we order Hot & Sour soup (for my non gf husband) at the same time we're ordering gf entrees. Most of the staff are American born or completely fluent in English, so we're confident that we're communicating clearly about the allergies - something we've had difficulties with at many other Chinese restaurants.
