I ate here by chance with friends. I do know I had a mild cross contamination reaction. I had a garden salad with salmon. They did attempt to accommodate and the “salad” (romaine, red onion, tomato- a small bowl was $10) was very fresh and the salmon (additional charge) was very good. (For some reason the waitress decided to eliminate the cucumber on my behalf… I had to ask for it. I ordered the same garden salad other persons at the table ordered. She said she was trying to accommodate me because of the gluten by eliminating the cucumber?)The establishment is not set up for someone with any kind of allergy and the staff seems very uniformed. They also seemed to need to have a discussion as to whether I really “needed” gluten free or if it was just a “preference”. I also repeated myself several times to the staff to serve the other persons in my party first but they kept hovering and trying to get an order from me. It’s very frustrating when everyone else wants their food and staff is asking me questions repeatedly and not listening while everyone watches. I don’t think it’s considerate to keep everyone else waiting and they were being pushy about having me eat something I didn’t want. (Plain steamed white rice.) The only real accommodation is gluten free buns. I also cannot have dairy and I was not even able to get a portion of olive oil as a substitute for salad dressing. The waitress tried to give me malt vinegar. The whole experience was extremely stressful (as it has been with restaurants who are not allergen friendly). I can’t speak against the establishment as far as quality of the food but I wouldn’t recommend eating here.

I love the bookmaker’s salad. That’s all I need. Other than that, it’s a crap shoot.

I stated this restaurant is “not gluten free” because the only mention they make about GF is it states on the menu, “ask how we can make your food GF”. When I ordered, I picked something I figured would be pretty easy to serve GF...not so much. I made it clear to the waitress that I needed it GF (I’m celiac) and she acted very sincere in her desire to accommodate me. The blackened chicken breast came with lump crab meat on top mixed with Alfredo and a side of Brussel sprouts. I asked her if she could ask if the Alfredo, crab meat (usual suspects!) and/or the Brussel sprouts had any gluten. She said she’d ask. She came back and said the Alfredo had gluten but she’d see if they could just put plain lump crab meat on top (great!). It took a while but she came out and said they could do it. When the meals came out for our large party, everyone’s was served except mine. I sat there for at least 10 minutes while everyone ate but I didn’t say anything because it was a celebration and I didn’t want to cause a fuss. Then the waitress came out and told me the Brussel sprouts were not gluten free either (ugh. I asked that from the get go) but ordered a side of spinach instead. When my plate finally arrived it looked and tasted fabulous! I did Not get sick at all so that’s why I ranked this 4 stars because they really tried, and really wanted to serve me something good that would not make me sick, but they obviously they are not well prepared for GF. I recommend the place, but just be vigilant about asking questions and verifying and re-verifyingand I think you’ll really enjoy the food and service. It’s a nice place

Good local restaurant. Not a whole lot of gf choices, but our celiac kids have been fine on both visits.
