**Update 100% certain there was a lot of gluten in the food. Despite the last sentence in original post I did not intentionally eat any gluten, in fact my entree never arrived. I only ate 2 apps and part of another persons entree, all of which was supposed to be for severe gluten allergy. I’m guessing the overworked and inattentive staff made some big mistake, or perhaps it’s just the nature of a very small kitchen. Either way no one there seemed to care about anything and the staff was equally frustrated by the situation so good luck to owner.

Sometimes you just know it’s not going to be a good experience and this was one of those. 2 hours of horrible gluten stomach pain later…it was indeed

Original Post: Don’t waste your time, for those hoping this is a newer version of the memorable old Stella in south end, you will be sorely disappointed. This is a ragtag operation serving some mediocre dishes, but I can assure you that those won’t be remembered, it’s the forever meal and horrible service that everyone was talking about. We were very patient and felt bad for the one person running the entire operation but an hour and a half later with other tables getting served first and meals coming out wrong we were quickly losing our patience. Others were too. It’s sad to see businesses invest heavily up front but fail to recognize that hiring too little help, or ambivalent staff, just ruins the brand. We all felt bad for the one man show but he seemed to indicate it was ongoing issue and didn’t even seem to care when things were spiraling.

Maybe they’ll have better luck as a takeout operation but for dine in it was a first and last experience. The arrival of meals was not measured in minutes, or tens of minutes, but hours. And when one of the meals came, it was served as a side dish not the full entrée that was ordered an hour and a half before. There was a full hour before the first entree being served and the last.

As for the celiac or gluten-free crowd, I wish you luck. I for one was ready to eat gluten instead of waiting any longer for the meal.
