Very cozy place, but not so many GF options. Only a few options on separated gf menu (you have to ask it). The waitress aren't so kind. Plus point: they have kids corner on the first floor.

The members of our party who could order from the regular menu enjoyed their meal. Those of us with dietary needs were accommodated however choice was extremely limited and not overly favorable. It was also salty and somewhat oily.

Sternbrau was delicious and so nice. Had the boiled beef and vegetables as well as the Salzburg nockerel (egg soufflé).

Friendly waiter who clearly explained what was available gluten free on the menu. They had a dedicated gluten free menu that was given to me. Traditional Austrian food.

Great dinner option! They have a separate gluten free menu with a few options. We recommend the ox tail & butter beans and the grilled trout. Cross contamination is possible, but our waiter made sure to note “celiac” on our order.

Huge and very fun restaurant! Almost 500 years old. Has a gluten free menu. Highly recommend the roast pork glutenfrei- it was tender and tasty! Very friendly staff took good care of me after showing my celiac card.

We wanted to have Salzburger Nockerl, which we had had many years ago at a Salzburg restaurant that no longer does gluten free, so we sat down and first ordered tap water. The nockerl was on the gluten free menu, but I wanted to verify if I could have it since I have a nut and peanut allergy. The gluten free menu has a disclaimer about not being able to guarantee no gluten. The waiter started saying it was very difficult for them to know what was in their food, so we decided to leave because we couldn't be sure I wouldn't have an allergic reaction. The waiter and head waiter chased us into the street after we had walked out to demand we pay them 3.50 euros for the tap water that they had not brought us yet. The waiter said that because we had ordered tap water, we had to pay for it, even though he didn't even leave to go back into the kitchen to get it. The head waiter ended up telling us to never come back. No worries there!

Not suitable for celiac disease! My hubby had an celiac disease accident after 30 minutes.
I sent an email to the restaurant and they advised that they can not cater for celiac disease patients as contamination can not be excluded.
Nice place for glutenfree food for people that have not celiac disease. Nice and huge outside seating area (Biergarten). Glutenfree menu on request.

Another good recommendation from this app. Had a lovely meal, this place is enormous, 9 parlours, children’s play space etc but has a warm and friendly atmosphere. Very small gf menu but food was delicious (trout). Only one choice for dessert but also good (soufflé). Staff very friendly and helpful.

Beautiful restaurant in Salzburg, right in old town! They had a separate GF menu so I felt safe ordering. I got the large mixed salad and the roasted pork with potatoes - both which were delicious! Highly recommend

I went with my family and I had the pork roast and it was great. I asked for the gluten free menu, and it didn't have as many items as the regular one. Also all the items in the gf menu were in the normal one but had slight variations. Overall it was great.

Great place! They have a special gluten-free and lactose-free menu and the food and service were excellent. I had the roast pork the first night and the portion was huge. The next time we went, I had the roasted trout and their special dessert- knockeral with raspberry sauce. Very enjoyable!
Great food with knowledable staff. Try the roast pork if celiac. I had no issues.!

Excellent local cuisine. Staff was very knowledgeable, patient, and reassuring. Had roast pork with kraut (which I normally don’t like, but it was good!), and the best soufflé ever for dessert. Would definitely go back.

Dined with a party of nine; I'm the only celiac. Everyone loved the food (cousin said it was the best pretzel he has eaten in the week we have been in Germany/Austria). I had made an online reservation where I mentioned I require gluten free. When we arrived at our table, the GF menu was already there, waiting for me!

Gluten free menu - not a huge choice, mainly meat and potatoes, but a nice meal anyway!

This restaurant has a dedicated gluten-free menu for request with around 12 options. The waiter served GF plates separately, but somehow we were not sure, that the meal was prepared separately from ordinary food and GF meal was served within 5 minutes. The portions are huge, our kids could finish one third only.

They did have a small gf menu (around 12 items across appetizers to desserts) and the staff took me seriously. Would recommend for more traditional food.

The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. My meal was amazing. This restaurant offered great value.

This place was great about catering to gluten free with it's own small menu. However the gluten free menu is very small. I hope you like saurkrat if you go. I ate around it. I will say the Salzburg Nokeral with rassberry sauce was heavenly.

Some confusion in my order, and no gf beer or cider. In the end, it was a decent meal, a decent glass of wine, and very fast service.
A traditional Austrian restaurant with a gluten free menu. This restaurant has a lot of Austrian specialties.
