Can confirm that there are no options that are not cross contaminated. Was here for a happy hour for work and while the drinks are great, food can not be accommodated for someone with celiacs

Symptomatic Celiac

I had a great experience here. This is a restaurant by Edward Lee, who has been on Top Chef and written some great cookbooks, and is known for a unique (and tasty!) Korean/Southern style.

Because we were a group of over 7, they initially said we had to order a family-style meal, per the policy on their menu. When they learned I had celiac, they allowed us to order a la carte so I could have more options.

It’s absolutely false that there is no notice of a shared fryer. It’s right on the menu. (If I have one complaint about the menu, it’s that it was hard to find on their site.)

It’s also false that there are very few gf choices. Here’s what you can get on the latest dinner menu if you have celiac: peel ‘n’ eat shrimp; oysters on the half shell; deviled eggs; collards, kimchi & country ham; bourbon-pickled jalapeños; succotash curry; iceberg wedge salad; shrimp ‘n’ grits; roasted salmon; today’s catch; dry aged bone-in ribeye; Delta rice bowl.

If that’s not enough food for you, may God have mercy on your soul.

Everything I ate was fantastic. Highlights were both kinds of shrimp, the wedge salad, the oysters, and the bacon deviled egg.

Maybe three months ago the menu didn’t mention a shared fryer, but I’m really tired of the number of misleading and false claims allowed to stay up on this app. There is no need to scaremonger. This restaurant is doing their best to do it right. I’m sorry the fryer isn’t shared but it’s not an uncommon thing, and you’re not exactly going to starve here.

Horrible for gluten free. There were several gluten free items on the menu, but the disclaimer on the bottom of the menu said that when some gluten free items are prepared they are prepared with non gluten free food. For instance, and gluten free fried food is fried along side non gluten free food, like fried chicken. This guarantees cross contamination so in retrospect the items are not gluten free. They have like 2 entries that are actually gluten free, and they aren't very good. I wouldn't give them any stars. Highly recommend not eating here if you are gluten free/celiac.

Not Celiac safe- everything is cooked in the same fryer, and there are no cross-contamination precautions. The food expensive for what you get, and both of our dishes were very oily. We won't be back (especially not with our celiac daughter).

We chose this restaurant because the menu does list quite a few gluten free items. The restaurant has only been open since Labor Day...and we went early on a Sunday evening (Sept. 13).Waiter was friendly and helpful...until the food arrived, and we didn't see him again until we were ready to leave. We started with the gluten-free skilley cornbread. I was looking forward to it, but was very disappointed. The cornbread was burnt to the bottom of the skillet, and had a very "off" taste. I cut the bottom crust off, and it was a little better, but the sorghum butter didn't help it at all. I had the fresh corn soup, and shared the Sweet Potatoes and Beets Gratin. The corn soup was served barely warm, like it had been sitting out waiting for them to finish my husband's entree. It was rich, and tasty, but would have been better at a proper temperature. The Sweet Potato/beet gratin was also served barely warm. It looked like leftovers and tasted quite bland. My husband had the shrimp and grits, and his dinner was served in a huge bowl....which didn't enhance it's contents at all. I didn't try it...he said it was hot, but not that good. It was not exactly what we were expecting, a totally different style than we like. Grits, shrimp, red eye gravy, and a poached egg on top.....meh. (It looked like a hot mess to me...not very appetizing.) By the time the waiter asked us if we would like dessert, we were ready to get out of there. We paid our bill and started the walk back to our hotel, and before we got to the entrance of the hotel (1 block away) I was sick! Stomach distress, a knot of pain in my gut, and dizzy. I was able to get to my room and sleep it off in about 4 hours. My husband (not gluten-sensitive) had no ill effects...besides still being hungry because he didn't eat much of his meal either.Yelp and other sites are giving it great reviews, but I did want to caution those who have gluten-sensitive issues....be very careful.
