Sugar Hill Distillery

Unfortunately, my son with CD was glutened badly today. We have eaten at the Sugar Hill Distillery before, and the experience was fine. Today, however, something went wrong.

Our server seemed unsure / not confident about the appetizers, so that right there is a red flag. He had the chicken nuggets and fries (like last time), but clearly something wasn't handled properly. When the meals for our group (8 people total, including 4 kids' meals) came out, there was confusion about which meal was for who. I suppose that's red flag #2. Additionally, we were missing one of the correct kids' meals, and a side that we had not ordered was brought out. We had 3 different servers / kitchen staff tending to our table....someone made a mistake. Perhaps the chicken nuggets or fries were not prepared in the separate dedicated fryer? Perhaps the wrong meal was given to my son with CD? Perhaps his food was mixed up with a sibling's meal? Needless to say, we will not take a chance letting him eat there again.

Even though waiter was new he seemed knowledgeable about GF and CC. They have dedicated fryer for fries! Our kids enjoyed their GF nuggets, chips and fries. Waiter did a great job announcing he was delivering GF food and when my son wanted another nugget basket he verified again GF nuggets. Delicious food and knowledgeable staff.... will be back for sure!

We’ve eaten here many times, great food and very knowledgeable about GF! Separate fryer in the kitchen, and all the sausages are GF. They also have a gf potato vodka, great in their signature cocktails! Be sure to ask for it specifically in your drink. Love this place! Friendly and fun!

Waitress was very knowledgeable about what was gluten free and what they did to avoid cross contamination. The food was amazing! Definitely will be returning for more German sausage.

06-24-2022 Dinner on the patio Second visit. Responsive server, knowledgeable chef. This is not a gf kitchen and current menu is not marked for gf Appetizers - Poutine - dedicated fryer and gravy made with corn starch - Sausage & Cheese plate - does have crackers to toss off.

Sides several choices

Dinner entrees - sausages on sauerkraut - 2 salad options

Drinks - tequila based - gin based - potato vodka - rum - moonshine

Highlights, my wheat eating hubby says this place has the best Reuben sandwich ‘evah. We will never know. Fries are the hand cut type and delicious. Everything tasty. Good bands on the patio some nights. Dog friendly. Kid friendly. Maybe they will mark the next menu.

Emily was friendly, even made 3 trips to the kitchen to make sure my food would be prepared safely for me...she was checking ingredients for the dressings between the chef and I! We really appreciated her. She also made my Georgia Peach drink with the potato vodka. Loved it!
