The server didn’t know much about gluten free but someone in the kitchen did. They claim they can make anything gluten free ..which I wasn’t ready to buy into. When they brought the food out the gluten free sushi was on the same plate as the non gluten free sushi, so cross contamination is an issue

First time eating here. Management was very nice and helpful saying almost anything could be made GF. Food was yummy but could use some salt. There were no GD dessert options because the mango was all gone. Also, they don’t have any GF appetizers and there is no coffee. I know, I know it’s a Thai restaurant… but it’s in America. 🤷♀

The wait or wait very good about explaining the menu. He said almost anything could be made gluten free. I got the lettuce chicken wraps and pad Thai. I was able to eat this with no problem and it was very tasty.
Sukhothai has become my favorite GF restaurant in the hills. Even if the server is sometimes confused about GF, they always ask the manager. She always sets them strait and informs the kitchen that I need GF. I love the Gang Gai.
For years we had great success eating GF celiac friendly meals here. Unfortunately, for the past months we have encountered issues with staff not taking GF requests seriously. For instance, they bring regular fried rice and gf fried rice on plates that look identical and then are obviously confused which is which. They have a puzzled look when we ask them which plate is gf. They tilt the plates and try to discern based on the look of the rice. They display zero confidence that they know which plate is gf. We gave them numerous visits to correct this new lack of consistency with gf meals. It has not gotten better so we can no longer risk eating here. I hear the owner opened a new location and it seems this one is struggling perhaps due to lack of his oversight. It's a shame because we used to order several times a month for family night. Our kids are bummed. When this food is correct it is awesome. If you do not have Celiac, this place may work as long as you do not care that their spice levels mean nothing. Mild one week is completely different another week. Sometimes to the point we can't even eat the "no spice" kid meal because it is too hot. Again no consistency visit to visit and not something we are willing to shell $60 out for anymore.
There seems to be confusion when you ask about gluten free. 10x worse for the vegan family behind me. They must have said vegan 10x and the waitress kept saying you want vegetables? I gambled it and ordered something that should be gluten free in most thai restaurants. Food was good, service so so, tables and menus all sticky.
The staff here is aware of issues relating to gluten. Many menu items are naturally free of gluten (pad Thai 😋, for example). And the staff are happy to ask the kitchen if there are questions they can't answer. Great food. We eat there all the time and I've never been glutened.
