They can accommodate but it’s best to go when it’s not busy. They get distracted and make mistakes. I specified multiple times that I needed my food gluten free and there were “tempura crumbles” put in my sushi. Eat here at your own risk.
No
The food was good and the service was friendly but my husband has celiac disease and he got sick so they messed up somehow. So if you are really sensitive like my husband and you go to this place make sure that what they are giving you is 100% gluten free. Not happy....
I was really hesitant to go to a hibachi restaurant. I'd been avoiding them in the 6 years since my celiac diagnosis, thinking there was no way I could eat at one because of the soy sauce in everything and the hibachi style cooking. I called the restaurant ahead of time and was told I could be accommodated. When my server didn't know the answers to my questions, she found another staff member who did, and they prepared all of my food separately in the kitchen, away from the hibachi grill. My only complaint was that they served my food before everyone else's was cooked, so I had to cover my plate with a napkin the whole time the rest of the food was being prepped in order to avoid any stray soy sauce-laden food landing on my plate during the prep. The food was very good, and it was nice to not have to say no to celebrating with friends who wanted to eat at that restaurant. My food did not make me sick either, so that's always a plus.
