This is a fantastic casual restaurant on the beach that's perfect for anyone that needs to be gluten free. The owner told us that they created at a breading mixture that does not contain gluten and this is what they use for ALL their breaded fried food. They also have a separate fryer for fries so they are also gluten free. We had the fish and chips and not only was it gluten free but it was delicious and much better than I have had in many expensive restaurants! So good!! They also offer gluten free chicken tenders. When you place your order if you tell them you need to be gluten free, they take extra precautions and change their gloves, in addition to all the previously described safety measures. Do not hesitate to eat here if you have Celiac or a gluten allergy.

basic fried food but dedicated frier since everything fried is gf. is not blatantly advertised as gf (to scare non gf customers away probably) but if u tell them gluten allergy they change their gloves and make sure no cross contamination occurs. the only thing not gf is the buns. overall good chicken fingers and fries and is one of the few places for me to eat that since i’m celiac.

This place is wonderful! They are VERY careful and can do almost any of the menu gluten free! The food is very tasty as well! I have eaten here 3 times and didn’t get sick any of the times!

Great for some fried comfort food! They use a mix of rice, almond, and tapioca flour so only buns have gluten. No need for dedicated GF fryer. Enjoyed the fish and chips and fried fish tacos. Great and helpful staff.

Cute little spot on the beach with outdoor patio. All their fried food is gluten-free: fish, shrimp, chicken tenders, fries, and sun pups (fried balls of mashed potatoes). Everything was delicious and no one got sick. Make sure to tell them you have celiac so they can mark it as an allergy for the kitchen because they do have regular bread in the kitchen for hamburgers & hotdogs. I felt very comfortable that they had good protocols to keep us safe.

Chef came out to speak with us, knowledgeable, dedicated fryer. The food was delicious. Shrimp tacos and fish and chips were to die for. Great location right on the beach too! Would come back.

NOT SO HIDDEN GF GEM!! As the boyfriend of a Celiac, it is difficult to find places to eat when my girlfriend and I travel. It is even more difficult to find a place that makes Gluten Free fried foods. I was recently in town for a Wedding, and came across across Sun Dog on the Beach on Find Me Gluten Free. I called John, and he was so accommodating and kind!! He assured me that my girlfriend and I would be safe eating the food here, as the breading contained ZERO Gluten, and the dryers are dedicated, since they don’t have any gluten containing ingredients for their breading anyway. They simply do not advertise as Gluten Free or with GF dedicated fryers so that non-celiacs are not turned away by their misunderstanding of GF foods as they simply do not understand how delicious GF fried foods are, and prefer wheat breading for no real reason other than that is what they are used to, and they are afraid of GF dining. I ordered the fish and chips, fried shrimp tacos, and chicken tenders. This food is AMAZING!!! A SERIOUS little known secret (that people who don’t know a Celiac personally may not have the chance to know) is that gluten free fried foods are even crispier and taste better than wheat based breading or bread crumbs. As a non-celiac myself, I can eat both... I prefer gluten free breading on fried food goods. And this place takes the cake. Huge thanks to John and the staff at Sun Dog on the Beach for making our experience in Diamond Beach even more memorable!! Thank you so much John! We will be back!

Delicious food! As a traveler with celiac disease, it’s so hard to find an establishment that can truly cater to my dietary needs. And then I met John and enjoyed the best fish and chips I’ve ever tasted, completely safe for me to eat. It was so good, my daughter who refused to eat fish up until now not only ate mine, but wanted to go back for her own! She said “Sun Dog is my favorite restaurant in Wildwood.” Thank you for your friendly smiles, superb service, and amazing eats. We will be back many times on our yearly Wildwood trip! This is a must for gluten free people. All of the batter on the fried food is gluten free. They seem very knowledgeable about cross-contamination, and the food is excellent, and the atmosphere is casual and peaceful by the ocean. Three out of the five in our party are gluten free and pretty sensitive, and none of us got sick. It's worth visiting this restaurant multiple times on a vacation trip.

The frying batter is gluten free! They do have fried gluten items but they are fried separately. Also any grilled items can be cooked separately on a pan to avoid the griddle which has bread on it.

The food itself is basic. Everything was a bit salty. There is better food out there, but it's hard to beat convenience and a beach view.

Excellent. We shared GF fish tacos and chicken fingers. A none GF member of our family had a hot dog. It looked huge and delicious. They are super accommodating. I’m surprised they don’t list GF on menu or advertise as divine. They have a dedicated fryer and they do not charge extra for GF.

Delicious gluten free fish tacos! The flavor was great. The fish was super crispy. The corn tortillas were nice and soft, but they just crumbled to pieces. Don’t worry, they have plenty of forks and napkins so I didn’t even care.

Their batter is gluten free for all foods. You cannot tell that it’s GF - and they don’t advertise as such - it’s that good. Very knowledgeable about cross contamination. Ask that they warm the corn tortillas in a pan - not on the same grill that they warm the flour tortillas for tacos. We had fried shrimp tacos and fish and chips. My celiac daughter didn’t get sick and really enjoyed the fish and chips so much that she went back another day for the same. Something as simple as fried fish is sorely missed when one goes GF because of celiac disease - so kudos to them for doing it right. Great casual location on the beach with covered picnic tables to get out of the rain or sun.

Wow! What an amazing find!! We just ate one of the best meals we have ever had in Wildwood and we have been coming down for 40 years (since I was 6). It’s more of an “order at the counter and sit by the ocean watching the sand and waves” kind-of-place. They have nice tables with benches in their outdoor seating. The fish and shrimp and sun puffs were phenomenal. And they just so happen to use gluten-free breading but you would never be able to tell otherwise!! The chicken fingers were fresh and homemade. The taco ingredients were fresh and flavorful. Can’t say enough about this amazing establishment. We met John, the owner, and he is extremely personable and kind. This restaurant deserves every 5-star review it has ever received! Will definitely be making this an annual tradition in our family. Thank you John!

Sun Dog is a truly a wonderful eatery situated at the end of Louisville Ave on the right, just before the entrance to the beach. Serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. Casual and relaxed environment for beach goers, those out on an adventure or just someone looking for a simply delicious meal. Don't rule this place out on a gloomy day as they have a covered area to eat under, in addition it would also give you a welcome break from the sun. Locally sourced meat, fish and produce from some of my favorite places. Owners are incredibly nice people and very aware that many of us have food allergies. Celiac or gluten free no problem as they have amazing options. This gluten free Jersey Girl had the most amazing fried chicken fingers, fried Haddock tacos and french fries made is a designated frier. I have no words to express how amazing the food tasted. One of their specialties is slow cooked pulled pork. Flavors are so scrumptious. Gluten free options at regular eatery where you can enjoy eating with your gluten loving family. Very hard in this area to find such a great place. Exceptionally clean kitchen area and outside eating. The menu has a good variety of foods. Call your order in and it will be ready when you arrive. Reasonably priced meals that won't break the bank. Would definitely recommend to give Sun Dog on the Beach a try as it will become your favorite place in the Crest. BYOB
