Pretty sure that the owner (or maybe his wife or kid) has celiac and I have felt confident in all of their gluten free options. Pizza, fries, burgers, and more! They know what they are doing here and is open late on weekends

Stopped here to grab lunch while passing through Amherst. Got myself the GF version of the ABC grilled cheese (apples, bacon, cheddar) and was absolutely floored when asked what king of bread I wanted. Wait you mean I have a choice in GF bread?! The owner arrived midway through our meal and chatted with us about how seriously they take GF. Everyone was as helpful and friendly as others have said. The husband was also happy with his South Western Burger (not the GF version). We will definitely stop here again when in the area.

Staff is lively and make you feel comfortable. Dedicated fryer, the whole package. Comfort food, that reminds me of the food I used to be able to eat from local pizza shops. All because you are gluten free does not mean that you aren't allowed to enjoy the greasy, satisfying food everyone is eating. Eating here makes me feel like I don't have celiac! Love this place

Ever since this place opened my sophomore year I could finally live the college dream of getting absolutely trashed and getting a pizza delivered to me when I got home at 3am. I practically live there

Was in Amherst visiting my daughter at college and noticed the good reviews for this restaurant. We had it delivered to her dorm. The Kennedy chicken sandwich was awesome! She loved her non GF sandwich as well. Only disappointment was that I had ordered the GF whoopie pie but they forgot to deliver it with the sandwiches.

I had lunch here today and it was great! The owner’s daughter has celiac so she was extremely knowledgeable about how to make her restaurant celiac friendly. She even told me which sodas were safe based on the flavor/syrups used. Most of the menu was able to be made gluten free (including a separate fryer for fries and sweet potato tots), and the apple, bacon, cheddar cheese grilled cheese I got was great! It was nice to have so many choices. The restaurant is mostly a delivery/take out place, so while there are tables to sit at if you want to eat in, I recommend calling your order in ahead of time if you’re on a schedule to avoid a longer wait time.

Going to the Sunset Grill and Pizza was a fantastic experience, both for the member of our party to has celiac and the rest of the crew. Amazing food! And the care that was demonstrated for GF needs was truly fantastic. My young GF friend was able to have french fries and a BLT knowing beyond a shadow of a doubt that her food was safe. A separate staff member prepared the GF food and brought it to our table, and the owner herself - who has a daughter with celiac - came by to make sure all was well. When the owner discovered that my friend had recently been diagnosed, she shared all sorts of wonderful advice about how to navigate this often tricky road. We will come back to the Sunset Grill and Pizza whenever we are in town - whether or not we have our GF friend with us. Bravo!!!!

I have only recently found out that Sunset existed thanks to an article in the Collegian. I have ordered from them four times in the last month and I am beyond happy with my experience! I am a Celiac so I really do not eat out very often at least until now. They have a large gluten free menu which includes pizza, soups, sandwiches, salads, chicken nuggets, burgers, and several desserts (all gluten free options). That however is not the best part about this place. They have a dedicated fryer for their french fries!!!! I have not been able to order french fries in so long. Thank you so much for all your gluten free options but most of all for the french fries! On my last visit I met with the owner and she was so nice and we had a long talk about the difficulty of finding gluten free foods in restaurants. She told me the lengths she has gone through to ensure safety in her restaurant and I am really really impressed. I can't wait to order again.

As a college student with celiac disease, it can be hard and frustrating to find my fix of greasy late night food with all of my friends. Sunset grill and pizza is the answer to my prayers! The staff and owners were SO unbelievably helpful and knowledgeable about being gluten free (for celiacs, not just those who are not worried about cross contamination). The owners daughter has celiac disease so she takes it very seriously! About half of the menu can be made gluten free which is more than enough! I had the princes grilled chicken sandwich and it was one of the best sandwiches I've had in a while. Before I picked up my food I got a call from the owner explaining that they fried the French fries (my friends had ordered them, not me) separately from the chicken tenders and onion rings just so I could have them! The food was so amazing and the staff was so careful and I will 100% be eating there all the time!

Almost everything on the menu can be made gluten free. They have dedicated prep space, fryer, toaster, and grill. The manager says that when the non GF pizza dough is prepared, all of the gluten free food is stored in the freezer and that the kitchen is cleaned thoroughly after. Manager's daughter is a celiac.
