Sushi Katsuei

As a celiac, Katsuei is one of the only sushi restaurants that I blindly trust! I go frequently with my husband or other groups of people and always get the omakase. They always be sure to use separate utensils for gluten free (they have gf soy sauce) and clearly mark & announce the gf pieces as they come out! Highly recommend dining here if you’re celiac

I told the waiter multiple times I was gluten free and he brought regular soy sauce to the table which I pointed out and he corrected and then they brought me shrimp tempura even though I said multiple times I was gluten free - I wouldn’t eat it (obviously) so they took it off the plate but they wouldn’t remake my other roll on the plate until I talked to multiple people - when I asked for the manager, the waiter got the hostess (who was clearly not the manager) and they said if I got sick from the cross-contaminated sushi they’d pay for my hospital bill - overall, very poor customer experience
