Sushi San

Went here last week while staying in Felton for vacation.

Our server Mimi was super helpful. Lots of gluten free options clearly marked on the menu.

I almost cried with tears of joy since sushi has pretty much been out since my diagnosis.

So grateful that we have somewhere to go when we visit Felton a few times a year.

How would you rate the taste and quality of the gluten-free food you tried?

— Excellent

I normally call ahead but for some reason I decided not to with this place. We were trying to go here with my mom for mother's day, when we got there I told the server I have a severe gluten allergy, celiac disease and asked whether they would be able to accommodate me. The server wasn't sure so went to the back and brought the chef out. She said she didn't recommend it because they use a lot of tempura and other things with gluten that contaminate the kitchen so if I have severe celiac or allergy she wouldn't recommend it. I let her know that I appreciated her honesty over getting sick. She was extremely apologetic and kind. They also had a sign on the wall that said they were understaffed so it is potentially possible that factored into her response. I probably wouldn't try going here again. I have had safe sushi at Akira and The Buzz if you are looking for sushi in SC. We ended up going to Sawasdee Thai and had a lovely meal. I learned my lesson, always call ahead!

This place is the best sushi in the area and have a ton of GF options on their menu. They are great about making substitutions and making sure things are safe to eat. I go to this place once a week!
