There is no GF menu, and there's very little other than basic sushi that can be made GF. The waitstaff weren't super knowledgable, and there are quite a few items they don't make at the restaurant so they have no idea what's in it. That being said, my waitress did a spectacular job talking to the chefs and finding me something I could eat. There is GF soy sauce. I didn't get sick.
When asked whether the waitress knew what was in the special sauce, she said “honestly no” and seemed ticked off. I decided I didn’t feel comfortable eating here, and we left.
Had an excellent experience at Shiono! Our waitress was knowledgeable of all the ingredients used in all the rolls, explicitly reviewing what was safe or not when we were deciding on what to order. Ultimately, the safest bet here are the simplest rolls with fewest ingredients or nigiri. But the quality was excellent, and they had tamari. Would come back!
Yes
Favorite sushi spot! You have to use common sense here, they are very helpful but you have to make sure you ask what the ingredients are, not just if its gluten free. They do have tamari so you don't have to bring your own. I always have rolls or nigiri sushi which is fresh and delicious.
Asked twice if something was gluten free before I ordered and got home and saw imitation crab meat in my roll which means it's not gluten free. Don't order anything with crab if you're celiac.
No
Delicious rolls. You can mix and match your own roll. They also have gluten free soy sauce.
Had gluten free free soy sauce. Out waitress knew what sauces to leave off that were not gluten free. Would go back!
