Sushi Social

Sushi social is great. They were very accommodating in letting me know what could be prepared gluten free and what they could do in terms of cross contamination. Sushi rice is gluten free. Had a great meal and they took pains to find something they could prepare for me for dessert.

Take note - this restaurant is fusion, and very distinctly Icelandic. Think dill and caraway and pickled beets in your rolls. Mayo for days. And it is EXCELLENT. The nigiri and sashimi (some cured in wine and beet juice) is also EXCELLENT. But you do need to come with an appreciation for Icelandic tastes.

American living in Iceland with Celiac Disease and has a fab experience here! Ordered the waygu beef and salmon sashimi. They brought gluten free soy sauce and promised they clean the work station and do a glove change!

Staff was wonderful taking care of me and pointing out what options were safe as well as what the chef could / would modify. They even told me they had accommodated other celiac so they understood the severity. The manager worked with me personally. I will say it is a fusion restaurant so more limited options for some aspects. However we rung in the new year without getting sick!
