Traditional and cosy place...
But we are both coeliac and we both got really sick, Not recommended...
At the beginning when we asked to the old waiter about possible cross contamination, he go pissed off and said something in Czech and he left... When he came back with our dishes he nearly throw them on the table (without even asking who order what)... it was surreal, I would not go back there even if they pay me!

Staff was friendly and provided great service. As a starter, I ordered the ham Ana cheese soup. So creamy and flavorful. For dinner I had the potato gnocchi with salmon and spinach. It was filling, yet excellent. For dessert we ordered the apple strudel. Delicious! Would return if in Prague again.

Personally the best for me. Highly reccommended
Great menu Fantastic food. Started with the beef goulash then ordered a pork schnitzel for 2 people by mistake. It wouldn’t have been so bad if my husband didn’t do the same thing. 🤣 We took the rest on the plane home to the states. I highly recommend this place!

Lots of gluten free options. Great place to enjoy gluten free Czech food!
Yes
Great traditional Czech food, with both GF and gluten options. The GF options come with a little flag in them saying "gluten free" so you can be confident. My daughter, who has celiac and is very sensitive, ate her fill of the schnitzel with French fries, and did not get sick. Amazing! This is a go-to restaurant for GF customers visiting or living in Prague.

Make sure not to mistake this for the spot next door. But if you find the right place it’s so very good. Very very good quality food.
Simply amazing. Outstanding Czech food, zero after-effects, and great value. Bravo.
Yes
Amazing food! Seperate extensive gf menu! They had a ton! I got the beef goulash and the bread! I didn't realize the goulash had bread that came with it so I was not able to eat it all lol I also ordered the beer cheese bc it sounded good....never again the beer cheese was disgusting. The waited was great very helpful! Def recommend!
Yes
Excellent gluten free option on Prague. Absolutely nothing to worry about when dining here. The staff is very knowledgable and there are numerous options, including beer and dessert! It is not entirely a GF restaurant, but that should not be a concern due to the great staff.
Yes
The food was great, definitely! Had the sirloin in sour cream sauce with gf dumplings. But the service was terrible and it is the only place we have eaten so far in Europe where our server asked if we were going to add a tip!
Yes
You can actually have traditional Czech cuisine in a pub style environment. I had the beef goulash and the potato dumplings. They mark all gluten-free food with little tags when your food arrives.
I was really satisfied with this meal; there’s not a lot of opportunities to try local foods when you’re traveling as a gluten-free person, so this place is super helpful. I got the beef and dumplings; it was really heavy and filling! Everything came out of the kitchen with a little “gluten free” flag on it, which was comforting.
Yes
I had pork schnitzel and I couldn’t be happier! I thought I would never be able to eat schnitzel again since developing my intolerance. The prices aren’t too bad either and I felt very safe there.
Yes
Went here after reading the recommendations. Was asked upon being sat if I needed a gf menu. They have a variety of options including vegetarian and chicken options for someone like me who doesn’t eat much meat. Chicken schnitzel and the apple strudel was great! Nearly every table had one gluten free diner it seemed. They even mark the gf plates with toothpicks- seems very safe
Yes
Lots of options, staff was very helpful and apple strudel is to die for.
Yes
Great place that we brought our family to eat traditional Czech food. I liked: they had a dedicated GF menu, the menu was extensive and we did not feel like we sacrificed anything, good service and knowledgeable about GF, and most importantly great tasting food! I would recommend. We even bought an extra loaf of GF bread since it was so good.
Yes
Walked in for lunch on a rainy Monday and had some lovely garlic soup with ham and cheese and a gf beer! Their gf menu was pretty expansive and the staff was knowledgeable! Yay!
Yes
they have gluten free Czech traditional menu dedicated. they haven't a separate kitchen like in Italy to cook without cross contamination , but you can trust them. Staff is prepared and aware about the cross contamination problem. food is delicious!
Yes
It’s surely a popular restaurant for celiacs because the first thing that the waitress asked me is if i wanted a gf menu. The menu is almost the same as the regular one, so lots of choices with traditional czech food. Nice and cozy place too.
Yes
This restaurant was amazing! The staff asked if I wanted a gluten free menu right when I walked through the door. They have many traditional Czech/European dishes that are delicious- even apple strudel. The gluten free beer is also very good! I would recommend this to anyone in Prague looking for a safe gf option with staff that are friendly and knowledgeable.
Yes
Svejk Restaurant U Karla is a traditional Czech restaurant serving a full gluten free menu of 20th century fare. The atmosphere transports you to an older time, and the food is rich and comforting. It was perfect after spending a chilly November day walking around. We dined on Goulash Soup with Potatoes and Beef (Erin), Hamburger (Elly), Homemade Apple Strudel.

One staff member in particular was very knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. They offered one beer which has <20ppm (as per their website any way)- so ok as per the standards of some nations. The prices were very good also. Worth a visit if you are in town (even just for a day of two), and enjoyable for those requiring gluten free and non coeliacs.
Yes
Fantastic gluten free menu and beer. Waiter was super friendly and careful.

Staff was knowledgeable, huge serving sizes, big gluten free menu available, gluten free beer and desserts included. Definitely recommend :))
Yes
Nice food, good price. They have allergie numbers on the menu. And have the menu in English and Deutsch.
Authentic Czech food. It’s difficult to find Glutenfree traditional cuisine so please go here. Please note that there is a separate glutenfree menu (you have to ask for it). Here you can have goulash, pork knee, various kinds of schnitzel in an authentic restaurant. Most of the people were not eating glutenfree which I see as a good sign. I understood that the owners had two day Byers’s (??)), one with Celiac disease and the other with Crohn’s), hence the glutenfree menu. They have a gluten removed beer, Bernard’s lager. I had chicken schnitzel, pork knee, gnocchi and apple strudel. The glutenfree menu is huge! Go when you’re hungry! Note: for irony, one of the largest beer halls is next door, nothing but gluten there!
Yes
Best option to taste Czech cousine! They have special gf menu and you can be sure that all dishes taste as non-gf. Perfect!
Yes
I died and went to heaven!!! It was so exciting to be able to experience Czech food with my family! We were able to share. However, I left hating myself because I ate entirely too much!
Excellent option! All dishes are tasty and dark gf beer is unbelievable!
Yes
A large gluten free menu with traditional Czech dishes. Some of those items are made with a low gluten barley but are marked A1 with an allergen disclaimer so be sure to avoid those items.
Yes
Amazing gf options. (Beware 1-2 things on their extensive GF menu had an A1 allergy, noting slight gluten ingredient) tried gf pork schnitzel and the gf beef goulash entree with mashed potatoes, followed by the gf fruit dumplings. The texture on the dumplings was like a sweet roll, oh so chewy, and possibly the best gf dessert I've had anywhere.
Yes
When we walked in we were asked if we wanted a gluten free menu. The menu had many choices of Czech specialties. I had roast duck with dumplings and cabbage but I could have had schnitzel. The food was delicious and the portion was large.
Yes
Great Czech restaurant! I was happily surprised when I sat down the waiter asked me if I wanted a regular menu or a gf menu! I have never had that happen anywhere (I usually have to ask for a gf menu or for what dishes are gf). The staff was very friendly and the service was excellent. The food was delicious and authentic! My plate even came out with a little flag sticking in it saying gf. It was delicious and I had no reactions, so I highly recommend!
Yes
Had a separate gluten free menu with plenty of traditional Czech options. So good we went back twice! They also have gluten free beer (Bernard)
Yes
Great selection of gluten free food in separate menu, worth the extra walk to get here!
Yes
I'm GF and vegetarian. they do have an extensive gf menu, but they don't have a huge selection for vegetarians. It is typical Czech cuisine. I got a delicious potato soup. I shared a potato pancake, which was not great and disappointing, and an order of fried cheese, which was a bit mediocre. Maybe we picked the wrong mains, there were other vegetarian dishes to choose from. I got fruit dumplings that were incredible! I think this is great for authentic Czech with loads of GF options.
Yes
Fantastic place. a bit off the beaten path but so worth it
They have a separate preparation area for gluten free! I had the chicken schnitzel and apple strudel--my first time for both and both delicious! They even had gf beer!
The best, most delicious authentic Czech food you can find in Prague! There's an entirely separate menu for Gluten Free and I am not talking about one page - it is as big as the regular menu! Everything can be made gluten free - appetizers, beer, bread, entrees, desserts. I backpacked around Europe for a month and hands down this is the best meal I had here!
Yes
Food was very good, but expensive. Service is not included in the menu prices, and that is cheating in my view, because in this country it is usually included.
This place was fantastic! My food came with little flags that said "gluten free," so I knew they actually cared and worked to keep it clean. I especially love that they serve gluten free beer, as I have been searching everywhere for it. I ordered the vegetarian risotto and rosemary potatoes from the gluten free menu, and they were both delicious, especially the potatoes. One thing to note is that while they do take card, any tips must be in cash/coin form. I didn't know this and wasn't able to tip. :(
Yes
Attentive staff, great selection and well priced - would eat here again

Without prompting they asked how many gluten free menus we needed. Great service, great food. They had gluten free apple strudel! Gluten free food had a flag in it to distinguish it from the regular plates.
