This bakery has amazing food! Many times the items taste better than gluten treats. Even my non-gf kids love the treats here. My only complaint is that there is not a location in the southwest section of the Salt Lake Valley. Hint: Jordan Landing would be an excellent location for a new Sweet Cake Bakery!!!!

I stopped by for the first time today after reading all the awesome reviews and having looked over their website and Facebook page. The one really positive is that there is little to no grittiness in their baked goods which is a really big deal in the world of gluten free. I bought a lot of different things to try and over all I was a bit disappointed but that just might be a me thing.

I tried the red velvet cookie sandwich and it was over baked enough that when I bit into it all the frosting squeezed out everywhere. The second problem was that there was too much frosting. The frosting was a bit over sweet causing the cookie to be over powered. I felt like I was eating frosting with crunchy cookie crumbs mixed in.

Next I tried the sugar cookie bar which was a day old but again it was over cooked making it dry. Even day old it shouldn’t have been that dry. The frosting on this was good and well balanced with the amount of cookie.

The snickerdoodle (again day old) was yet again over cooked and plainly dry and hard. It was also missing that awesome buttery flavor I miss so much from my pre-GF days.

Lastly I tried the dinner rolls (from the freezer) and found them dry, dense and they crumbled all over when I bit into it.

Honestly with a few small tweaks this place could be amazing. Unfortunately the death knoll of a restaurant or bakery is lack of consistency. I don’t know if I just hit an off day or if I’m a weirdo that likes non crunchy cookies but for the price that is charged at this place, considering the baked goods as they were today, are not worth the money or drive to me.

Came for a treat for my daughters birthday, usually have to make it. The lemon bars are fabulous as are the brownies. But the best find was the bread, so close to regular bread it was hard to believe she could eat it!

Been here on two different trips to SLC. The quality of the treats are excellent, great location, and clean facility, they even have a sign "no outside food permitted" which is cool. Prices are the normal high for gluten free treats, but they are a dedicated facility with quality products. Limited dairy free options, usually only one item in the display, which stinks since many gluten free eaters also have to eat DF, and it's not that hard to substitute milk and butter with DF alternatives these days. My only two complaints are that the quality isn't always consistent (if you don't get there first thing in the morning there isn't much left, we went at 10 am. one trip we got there in time and filled a box full of treats since we are out-of-towners and when we got home everything was super dry and brittle, disappointing since we spent like $30.) #2 AND the service isn't great. The first time we went no one was at the front but we could here girls laughing and goofing off, the server was picking food out of the display with her bare hands and touching her face and hair, we had to ask her to put gloves on, they also put our small order of two cinnamon rolls in a giant bakery box which wasn't fun eating out of in our car visiting from out of town haha. They were friendly and sweet but mostly seemed inexperienced, didn't know the menu well (like which baked goods where DF, despite that being one of their selling points). On our second trip a year later, no one was at the front of the store again but we could hear chatting and laughing in the back, they eventually came out, this server was also inexperienced. We asked which of the baked goods on display were dairy free. She had no idea and we had to ask her to go find out. I'm not sure if she was confused but instead of asking which of all baked goods on display were df she'd only ask about one (cookies or later cinnamon rolls etc), so we kept having to ask her but what about the rest, and she'd walk back to ask. This happened at least 4 or 5 times which was awkward since we could hear the person in the back answering her, not sure if that was a supervisor or manager but after the second time of her going back there you'd think a supervisor would just come to the front to answer our questions. Sweet girls, but inexperienced, or maybe not properly trained, or just don't care? Disappointing.

Outstanding! Owner has Celiacs. If I did not know this was a dedicated gf facility I wouldn't have eaten the cinnamon roll. It IS like the ones mother made when I was a child, long before I had Celiacs. I also tried their cupcakes - they have regular and minis - also outstanding. They sell their own flour mixes, one for cookies and a finer one for cakes. I am SO going back!!!!

Here in SLC for a conference and Gluten Free. Super excited to have a place where I KNOW the food is safe. Starting with a cinnamon roll, but will be back this week to have a sandwich and maybe leave with a loaf of bread and/or dinner rolls. 😃

I was downtown and found this bakery using the app. It was near closing time and the supply was limited - I was able to score a red velvet cake ball (tasty) a mini banana caramel cupcake (delicious cream cheese frosting), a French toast bake (breakfast tomorrow?) and both a cinnamon and an orange roll (trying to wait to eat those!). I haven't been able to walk into a bakery and know everything was safe for me EVER. So excited to find this gem!

If you're ever within 100 miles of this place, go! I have been to several gluten free bakeries and none of them even compare to Sweet Cake. The orange rolls are incredible and the chocolate chip cookie will probably change your life. I've tried almost everything they sell and I haven't tasted anything that I didn't love.
