had to add this restaurant to Find Me GF because of how great an experience I had
The menu does have GF items labeled, but it says nothing about cross contact, dedicated prep area etc
Almost all menu items w tortillas can be made with corn instead, and a good proportion of their starters & salads are made without gluten ingredients
I ordered 2 menu items, one already GF and one with a corn tortilla sub. I asked the server to flag that I have an allergy, but it was fairly busy and i was worried it hadn't been noted.
When my food came out, I triple checked (with a different server) that my tortillas were corn, and that no substitutions had been made on my starter. He said to wait, and that he would run back to confirm. I *did not start eating*
He came back and apologized that they were flour. He offered to remake the whole dish. Without my saying anything, he asked "Are you sensitive enough to gluten that you'd like us to remake the dish, instead of swapping out the shells?"
^ and that, that is why I am posting. Demonstrated understanding of cross contact, reassured me it would actually be re-prepared safely, and also confirmed that the GF-marked starter was also in the clear.
