Taco Mama has a super good variety of tacos that are gluten free, with both soft/ hard corn tacos. Their chips are safe to eat. They had an allergen menu at the counter. They were super knowledgeable about changing gloves/ cross contamination.

I had a great experience here, one of the employees was really helpful in explaining the prep used. I ended up with the soft tacos - which are heated on the grill and not fried. Everything was delish!! The items containing gluten are marked on a separate allergens list which they have at the counter.

I went to Taco Mama before a basketball game and was so impressed tonight by their staff. The young man who took my order was so kind and helpful. He even told me he would have the staff change gloves before preparing my food. The food was delicious! They also had a very detailed allergen menu. It felt nice to feel normal as I ate out with my family.

Had the build your own burrito bowl with the barbacoa braised beef, was full of flavor, the meet was tender and the toppings were delicious. The young lady at the counter was very helpful. She knew what I could and could not have. It was enough food for two meals but I ate the whole thing. Would highly recommend this place if you like Mexican food!

My husband worked with the restaurant to ensure my takeout order would be GF and DF. My chicken bowl was delicious and had quite a kick. My spice tolerance is high given I'm used to Denver salsa. Kudos there. The chips were subpar and stale. I did not get sick, so this is another win for Auburn.

I went with my mom while it was busy. We got nachos. We are both celiac, and neither of us got sick. I don't know what allergy precautions they take, but the only things that arent safe are soft tortillas and a couple of minor things that I don't remember.

This place is awesome! The majority of their food is GF. Their chips are fried separately. Eaten here many times and have never gotten sick

The food is absolutely delicious and pretty much everything is GF, including chips and queso ;)

Everything is gluten free except for the chicken. Love this place!!
I get the burrito bowl, which has no gluten. Very good :)
Manager was awesome and honest about potential of cross contamination with chips and hard shells. Recommended soft corn tortillas for beef tacos and the rice. No signs of gluten exposure following meal!

The chicken is NOT gluten free, but every other meat is. Make sure you tell them you have celiac! In Gardendale specifically- they know what it is! When I tell them, I don’t get sick. I always order the nachos with ground beef and almost everything on it. I don’t ask for anything grilled just because I want as little to touch the grill as possible!

They are very knowledgeable. You can only get a bowl if your are cross contamination sensitive. Been a 3 times and never been sick and able to change it up each time

The cashier at Taco Mama was SO knowledgeable. I guess I had looked at the GF menu of a different Taco Mama so I said I had celiac and wanted the Nachos and she immediately corrected me and said that this restaurant is the only one in the chain that has a shared fryer so the chips are not gluten free. I ordered the chicken tacos and she made sure I got the chicken NOT cooked in beer. When she put in the order she said “ok let me go tell everyone to change their gloves” without me asking her to. So sweet! I have very sensitive celiac and didn’t have an issue.

Went here and they are gluten friendly. They are not, however, dairy free friendly. So if you are like me and have trouble with gluten and dairy I do not recommend this place. The chicken, ground beef, retired beans, and guac all have dairy in them.
