This establishment is not gluten free and doesn’t take steps to avoid cross-contamination. After calling ahead to determine if they had gluten-free items on the menu, I went to the restaurant and immediately asked if the chips and salsa that they brought out were corn because I have celiac. The server specifically asked me if I had a gluten allergy or a gluten sensitivity and I repeated that because i have celiac I have a gluten allergy. She assured me the chips were corn and were ok to eat. I proceeded to eat several while waiting for the server to come back to take my order and was then told that - oh by the way - the chips are cooked in the same fryer as wheat tortilla chips. After raising a concern about getting sick and telling the server that cross-contamination can be dangerous for some people with celiac, the host came over and tried to push a story on me that “gluten sensitive” is the same thing as a “gluten allergy” and therefore the restaurant meets the standard for serving people who must eat gluten-free.
DO NOT EAT HERE. The service is substandard and you’ll end up sick. I spent the rest of the evening with stomach pains.
