I got sick after eating here BUT I cannot tell if it was because of their food or something else. I called on the phone when I noticed something was wrong and asked about their ingredients: they don't check if their condiments are gluten-free. Particularly for hummus and falafel, cumin can be an issue and they use Chef's Quality Ground Cumin, which is not gluten-free certified.

Other than that, the staff seemed informed, changed their gloves for me and even took my portion of hummus from a new container, in case they had previously spread hummus from the regular bowl on a wrap containing gluten.

I do think they should really check their condiments.

My family and I walked to Tahaza from the Boston Science Museum for lunch. It was a really pleasant walk along the canal. Having two kids with us, we greatly appreciated how quickly we were able to order from their simple menu and that we could get a kid's meal for our youngest (who thoroughly enjoyed his pita bread with peanut butter and honey). The rest of us ordered from the regular menu. I have an allergy to gluten, which I mentioned to the gentleman taking our order, and he immediately changed his gloves to prepare my salad. They put their house-made hummus on the bottom of the bowl, then you have a choice of greens, then a choice of protein (I chose their falafel), and then lots of toppings and a dressing. It was so delicious. I wanted to go back the next day for more. The rest of my family really enjoyed their meals, too. One also got a salad, but with the chicken, and my husband had the hummus bowl. They also offer wraps. I had no symptoms of cross-contamination at all. Fast, friendly service, delicious food, and no gluten-allergy symptoms - for me it was perfect.

This is my new favorite place! They have always been happy to change gloves to avoid cross contamination. The rice bowls and humus bowls are delicious with all the toppings (except for the pita strips). The lamb and beef are nice and tender (the chicken was a but dry the one time I ordered it). I haven't tried the falafel but want to next time. I can't say enough good things about this place- it's so good!

The girl behind the counter told me everything (including meats/proteins) is gluten free, and changed her gloves when I told her I'm GF. I would maybe double check on the falafel though...She said the only items containing gluten are the wrap and the pita/pita chips sides. You can get GF falafel chips as a side for 1$ more, or carrot sticks for no additional charge.
