This place had so many Filipino GF options. They have a separate GF menu. I loved the Kare Kare oxtail! They have halo halo and banana Lumpia. I would come back if I had more time in Maui and everything is reasonably priced. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Nice atmosphere.

I ordered fish and veggies. I got sick, so I will not be eating here again.

I do not recommend Tante's for anyone with a gluten allergy or other allergies. They did not have a gluten free menu and the server did not know what gluten was. She did ask the chef who said the only thing they could make was steamed fish with veggies. I asked about other foods on the menu (including sushi) and they were not helpful and said it could not be modified.

On top of this, the atmosphere was terrible. The entire restaurant was filled with smoke (from the grill or burning food). We were seated in the sushi bar because they told us we had to have a reservation even though it wasn't busy. Also, someone bled on the main hallway floor and it took them a while to clean it up.

I don't recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We had a great meal! Most of the menu was gluten free or they were able to make substitutions. They marked my meal as me having celiac so I felt safe.

No GF meals were identified on the menu. The waitress asked me what I wanted and helped adapt the meal to be GF after speaking with the cook. The food was very bland with no flavor.

Staff was not accommodating or informed. The fish tacos were basically the only gluten free option on menu.

While not having a gluten free menu, the waitress consulted with the chef to find as many gluten free options as she could. They also cooked my celiac partner’s meat on a separate saucepan. While not the easiest place for a celiac to eat, they were friendly and did their best to cater for us.
