Went here last night with family; Waitress didn’t even know what gluten is, and acted like she’d never heard that word before. We asked if the meat was marinated in anything, and she said they put “mahi” sauce on it (Maggi sauce - had to google that; it’s literally made of from wheat). I asked for the carne asada plato without that sauce/with just salt and pepper. When it came out, there was no mention of it being made differently than normal. It’s been well over 12 hours and I haven’t gotten sick, so I can safely assume the steak and guacamole were gluten free. I’ve NO idea if the beans or rice were; I left them alone. The food was okay, but I was so worried about getting sick that I couldn’t enjoy it. All in all, if you’re celiac, I’d steer clear of this place.

I’ve honestly done great here. I always ask them to be cautious of touching flour tortillas with my food, changing gloves & making sure it’s separate. I’ve often been unsure how much is understood but I’m a super sensitive celiac and I haven’t gotten sick. This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in lubbock!
Chips aren’t gluten free, so I’ll bring a bag of chips and enjoy the salsa and I love the enchiladas suizas. They’re amazing.
I’ve eaten here many times without a problem. I always get the mini tacos with Al Pastor. It comes with corn tortillas, grilled onions and cilantro. There is definitely a potential for cross contamination but I’ve been eating here for years and never had a reaction from this dish. Chips and salsa are great too.
