UPDATE (2 days later):
I had a slight reaction the next day, but thought it could have been something else that caused it. I ate here again the next day, and had an even worse reaction.
I'm pretty certain this place caused it.
From what they told me I don't think they really understand what it means to be GF. I wonder if they are using the other fryer when it's busy or something. In any case it's off my list until it's shown they know what they're doing.
I really hope they figure it out because its good quality otherwise.

I was happy to discover this fried chicken place is not only mostly gluten-free but also Japanese. Most other GF fried chicken I've come across is Korean, which is great, but it's good to see another twist on it.
It's cooked very light, crispy and juicy. I've missed "karaage" (Japanese style fried chicken) so great to have again. Done excellently! Also there are exotic options like gizzards and cartilage. Also bento sets with other Japanese sides.
However unfortunately I was told that only the chicken is guaranteed to be GF. Everything else, fries, mashed potatoes, cabbage, and all 7 of their sauces are not GF.
It seems like they are erring on the side of safety (which is better than the opposite), but it seems like most or all of everything else could be GF, especially the sauces.
So all you can get is plain fried chicken, with no sides or sauces. That said, the chicken tastes GREAT.
I've written this review after I just ate so leaving safety as "unsure". Will update with another review.
