Texas Chili Parlor

All chilis thickened with masa and fully gf. I got the chili potato with cheese and sour cream. Got it with the all-beef classic Texas red chili and it was bomb. Came with a side salad. Hubby got the chili burger and really enjoyed it... Patty seemed freshly smashed. Waitress was knowledgeable.

Hidden gem! Authentic Texas! Honestly had no idea what to expect from this place as a person needing gluten free. It was nearby my group's meeting. Figured it was worth a shot to go in and ask. I was pleased to find that in the chili they use corn only, not wheat flour to thicken. (Note that the gumbo, however, does have wheat.) Not sure about the other items, didn't ask since everyone I was with was getting chili bowls anyway. It does say on the menu that they give you crackers, but the crackers are individually wrapped saltine packs in a separate basket so there is no risk of cross contamination.
