404 Kitchen was fantastic. My server Marissa was super knowledgeable about gluten free items and reconfirmed anything she wasn’t sure of. She even went out of her way to check whether any wheat flour is used in the kitchen at all to prep (there is but ensured me that there was no prep going on that day). Separate fryer and gf items clearly marked on menu. Had the fried chicken, corn bread, and asparagus and all of it was top notch. Would go here over and over again.

Lovely rooftop dining. Nice indoor ambience as well. You cannot get the fried chicken as an individual plate. It only comes large enough to serve two or three people. The chicken is smoked first then fried. So if you are not a fan of smoked food, don’t order it. The twice baked potatoes had blue cheese mixed in them. Which was a problem for me. I wish they would have stated that on the menu. It is on the pricier side.

Waiter was knowledgeable about gluten-free. We got the smokey fried chicken (you get tons) some kind of cheesy potatoes, cornbread, and my non-gf husband got a burger and fries. Not sure if they have a dedicated fryer. They did not have a gf bun. Atmosphere was nice. Prices were high but worth it. Would recommend.

I wanted a special place in Nashville and this restaurant did not disappoint. The smoked fried chicken is outstanding. We’ve talked about doing a 4.5 hour one way day trip just to get more of it lol. I’m also dairy free so my options were more limited but still a great restaurant.

I was so nervous about eating the fried chicken but it was delicious and I didn’t get sick!!! I also tried the cornbread, which wasn’t my favorite but safe nonetheless. I’ll try the catfish bites next time - supposedly everything fried is safe for us GF folk.

First called to make sure they had gf options and the host was very knowledgeable on what was GF, check! Next went to the restaurant, the hostess confirmed that almost everything on the menu was GF, check! Then the server was also knowledgeable on the few items that weren’t safe, then did we order!! Fried catfish bites cornbread and fried chicken! It’s a whole chicken cut up and fried, definitely share worthy, ambience is beautiful, delicious cocktails too, it’s a sit down upscale restaurant, my husband is celiac and no issues after, we saw some postings about French fries but we never saw them on the menu so we didn’t ask if they had them or if they had a dedicated frier for them but the fried chicken and catfish were in its own fryer

Totally awesome waiter (Scott) who absolutely knew what was safe and what was not on the current menu. I had the burrata salad (appetizer) and red snapper (main). I shared the twice baked potato. Everything was amazing. Pretty much all of the menu was gf. Fries are not but everything else that is breaded and fried is (including catfish bites and fried chicken.) Great ambiance and drinks. Definitely go if you’re in Nashville!

Great GF fried chicken! I even called before going to confirm and they use a dedicated fryer. The chicken is not only fried but they smoke it too. It was fabulous.

Since the 2 reviews contradict each other I decided to call the restaurant. I was assured their fried chicken is in fact GF and has always been! We look forward to trying it!

One of the waiters, not our own, went above and beyond to help. Some items can be gF. Cross contamination is respected as much as possible. The friend chicken cannot be done Gf.
Compared to Sundra and Sixty Vines, food at 404 is subpar, hardly war and a much lesser quality. If you are in town for a short bit; this is not the spot to earmark on your trip. Celiac - proceed with caution.

Restaurant has many gluten free options including their gluten free fried chicken (yes, their award winning fried chicken is gluten free!). Great meal and great service.
