We LOVE the Bakehouse! My daughter and I are both Celiac and we frequent the Bakehouse. I spoke directly with the owner about contamination and she has a dedicated toaster for gf bread. For grilled sandwiches, they clean the grill before grilling gf bread. The hot ham and cheese is our favorite sandwich. The chicken salad sandwich is great also. My husband likes the figgy and my son likes the BLT. All of the sandwiches can be made gf. Each is served with Kettle chips (sea salt or vinegar) and they are gf. They are also served with pickled okra. She has baked goods on hand also. Most are not safe but she always has gf blueberry muffins.

The staff was very friendly but not very knowledgeable on cross contamination unfortunately all they could tell me was we have a lady that doesn’t eat gluten and she eats here all the time.
I did go with the bowl they offer and it was delicious and gluten free! I chose to get a GF blueberry muffin and take it home to eat in the safety and I’m glad I did because I was definitely unfortunately glutened. Lesson learned that their baked good are cross contaminated but I’d definitely go back for the actual food.

The Bakehouse is not a gluten free or nut free cafe. We offer gluten free bread as an alternative and gluten free pastries as well. Although we are very careful, we cannot guarantee there will be no cross contamination since our kitchen prepares most items containing gluten.
Love this place. They are always so kind and try to have a mix of GF options!
