A very poor experience in this cafe today. It was my first visit and I was excited as my friend was treating me to lunch. I asked if they had anything that was gluten, dairy and soya free. The sweet potato soup would have been fine but unfortunately had been made with stock containing soya. The only thing the waitress could offer was bread and jam with vegan spread. I asked if they could do a salad and got a small side salad of just lettuce with two pieces of dry white bread and margarine. Very disappointing.

We love this place, it never disappoints. Food is delicious and there’s plenty of gf options which are clearly labeled. We have ordered eggs Benedict, sandwiches, soup, cakes and pastries. The place has a lovely atmosphere and a view of Portobello Beach with indoor and outdoor seating options.

Ordered a sandwich gluten free at lunch, only for them to tell me after waiting 10 minutes that they didn’t have gluten free bread. Unsure if they meant that they ran out that day or that they simply don’t have it anymore.

I had a cheese Toastie and then mango gelato. they were both very good it was pretty crowded but they were very knowledgeable about gluten free and I had no reaction
